| Socialization What is the best way to socialize my 7 week old. She hasn't gotten her shots yet and I think i should wait until she is done with them before socializing with people. I know dogs will have to wait until she has her shots but what about people. |

| You need to concentrate on doing all the things a momma does with and for her babies at that early age....puppies should stay with momma until at least 12 weeks of age so momma can teach all the things that the pups need to know in order to be well adjusted, not fearful, socially acceptable canine citizens. Probably need to get a really good book that will outline everything mommas teach their babies from week 7 until 12 weeks of age, so you are able to attempt to fulfill that void this baby had been deprived of. Research and find a really informative book or manual, not one of those $2.00, 15 page pamphlets that some pet stores carry. You will benefit from a source of information aimed at Yorkies, as some of their requirements differ from other breeds.... And absolutely NO public exposure until completely vaccinated at week 12-14....and give it 2 weeks to be effective. Last edited by Yorkiemom1; 08-17-2015 at 03:22 PM. |
