| Hello Hello to everyone. We have two yorkie pups. One is 18 weeks and the other is 14 weeks. They are adorable and I will post pics. Just wondering if anyone has had allergies to yorkies. I am allergic to dogs that shed and have severe eye problems with them but didnt think these guys would bother me. At first I was ok but now starting to have a lot of eye and sinus issues. The weather is warm here right now and pollen out which I am also allergic to so have to wait till the fall and it is colder to really know for sure. I cant take a lot of allergy meds as they cause me to feel very on edge and nervous. I love these little guys and it would break my heart to have to give them up. |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Hi and welcome to YT ! Congrats on your 2 babies. It's so hard to say whether this is due to pollens or the doggies...I'd think you'd have to wait until at least November to really assess that...?

| Hi and welcome to YT! Congrats on your two yorkie puppies. I also have two yorkie puppies, although mine are 2 months apart, rather than one month apart. Regarding allergies, my daughter who is severely allergic to dogs, cats and rabbits, just stayed at my home for 2 weeks, and didn't have any problems with the puppies. She even stayed in my room, where the puppies sleep. As far as your allergies go, I guess you will have to wait until pollen season is over to see if you are allergic to your puppies or not. I hope not for your sake and also the sake of your puppies.

YT 1000 Club Member | Welcome to Yorkie Talk! I understand the 2 puppy thing! I brought home a brother and sister in May. They are now about to turn 5 months old. Most people are not allergic to Yorkies. Do make sure you bath them at appropriate times. Mine vary when they are bathed. My 9 year old Yorkie needs a bath every other week. The puppies usually only get a bath once a month, unless something happens of course... Like falling in the pond and getting muddy. lol It varies by dog how often they need a bath. Also, make sure the dog shampoo doesn't bother you as well.

| Hello and welcome. My son is allergic to dogs, cats, all weeds, grass and trees tested for, dust, and mold. My sister had a Yorkie that didn't bother his allergies, so we decided to get one ourselves. So far, so good. His allergy doctor said it really depends on the particular person with each individual animal they come in contact with. Good luck! |

| i'm allergic to basically anything... dust, shellfish, pollen, animals... or just about anything that has chitin in it... (which would cause severe reaction.. from hives to my throat closing...) but i am not allergic to my puppy *thank god lol* if your med is making you feel nervous... try diff one.. zyrtec works well with me, but if my mom takes it, she ends up sleeping all day and she takes claritin instead.. but claritin does not work with me at all.. does nothing for me.. lol |

| Thanks to everyone for the welcomes and replies I too hope that I am not allergic to the pups. I found something on here that says to rinse them with Chamomile tea so we have tried that. And I will wait for allergy season to be over and see how it go's. We really are attached to these little guys and hopefully it will work out. Elle |
