| Weight gain Georgia was born April 1st. June 25th she had a hernia repair and a spay. She had another hernia repair June 30th. On July 4th I brought her to the vet for seroma. She weighed 4 lbs on the big scale. Today, July 14th, when they took out her stitches they weighed her and she was 4lbs 11oz. Isn't that a jump? They have one large scale in the waiting room, don't think they have another so I think she was weighed on a baby scale. She eats the Honest kitchen 3x a day and is very active. Thoughts? |

| At 3.5 months, Yorkies grow pretty fast so the weight difference sounds normal. The conventional wisdom is that puppies cannot be overweight. For adult dogs, pay more attention to the body than the number on the scale.

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | She may have had a growth spurt. As long as her body condition feels correct, I wouldn't worry too awfully much.

| I agree with posters above. Also, I'd like to add that as a puppy, it's always better to have weight gain than loss. Being so young and so small, they're already at so much risk for all sorts of sickness. |
