YT 2000 Club Donating Member | This webinar might be of interest to pet owners VetVine - CMS Page Profile - AKCCHF Joint Health in Dogs Event It technically is free but they do ask for a $10 donation. A good opportunity for those that struggle / have dogs with joint problems - and most ageing dogs start to develop arthritic changes.

YT 2000 Club Donating Member | With the link I was given I was able to hear the audio and the slide show. For me most of the first part of the lecture was info already known - how-ever the meaty parts for me came in about three quarters of the way through. Of note in treatment for joint issues PRP Plasma rich protein therapy - much evidence of efficacy per the lecturer. She did not recommend Stem Cell Therapy at this point in time. Very costly and the efficacy studies are not present yet. Dasuquin as a supplement has good evidence and she recommends this product a lot.

YT 2000 Club Donating Member | This is a good watch for everyone with ageing dogs. The key is to avoid prevent or at least slow dog the arthritic changes that come with age. As you are probably already aware - overweight dogs are at high risk for arthritis. Dogs that lack exercise and dogs that have suffered previous injuries to their bones such as breaks - overuse injuries etc. Studies have shown that dogs kept in shape live 1.9 yrs longer than those that are out of shape. If you want to compete in performance sports I highly recommend the book Building the Canine Athlete by Dr Chris Zinc.
