| OMG - Charlie is "mounting" his toy dogs! Charlie is the wife's "mental health" dog. She is babysitting the Grandkids for a few days. She would have taken Charlie but we are in the "pee pad" training mode (which is going well). Should I tell her that her 4 month old Charlie has fallen in love with his boy toys? I am ready to pull all his toys!

| It's normal. I wouldn't sweat it. I have 2 males that are both around 2 and a half years old. One was neutered at 5 months, the other was neutered at 2 years. Neither of them get into the humpty dumpty anymore. The one that was neutered at 2 years did that to everything until about a week after the snip snip. By the way, if you take away his toys, he will probably still look for something to "snuggle" with. So, in order to keep your ankles safe, I would just let him have the toys.

| Super and thanks for your replies. We already have Charlie scheduled to be neutered and have a pet microchip installed when he turns 6 months. Vet felt it would be best just to do both at the same time. Thanks again for the replies.

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | He's a little young to be neutered, most vets like to wait until his adult teeth are in, so they can pull the remaining baby teeth. So, don't forget to remind the vet of this, not all vets know this about Yorkies, they don't always lose their baby teeth on the own and several have to be pulled. Not sure if the testicles have dropped yet, but humping is actually good for this and encourages the testicles to drop. So don't worry, it's a normal and healthy thing. Joey stopped humping about a month after neutering, but many dogs continue to hump all their lives. It probably depends on how much testosterone the adrenal glands make, once the testicles are removed. Just don't let him hump people, it's a sign of dominance, but toys are okay.
