| It really depends on when I start seeing fleas again. The instructions say not more often that once every 7 days but I have never done it that often. Sometimes I have to apply it every 3 weeks during the summer months. I use the Advantage II. I buy the size for extra large dogs so I can treat about 7 yorkies with one tube. A vet had told me to use about 1 drop per pound of the dogs weight. My daughter had used Advantix on her little 4 lb yorkie and she had a reaction so I don't know if I would recommend that. We don't have a problem with ticks so mine really don't need that. I really hate using anything with chemicals but I have not found anything natural that works that good.

| I used diatomaceous earth in the past and it was 100% effective with no side effects. |

| I did try diatomaceous earth but it did not get rid of the fleas and I found it really messy. How do you apply it and do you treat your house and yard with it. How long does it take to start working?

| I spread it along the walls, in corners, under couches. I live in a townhome, so I didn't do outside. It took about 2 week to see the first results. I have not seen any fleas after 30 days. I vacuumed every day. |

| I do not use chemical flea treatment regularly. We are proactive- the three dogs get fleacombed daily (two have short coats for the hot part of the year-8 months)and washed in Minksheen weekly. If I would ever find a flea I stop by the vets and they dispense me the latest/newest treatment they have and I go into hyperactive mode with cleaning, replacing bedding, and vacuuming for 10 days. Last time was the fault of a groomer about 2 years ago! |

| I use Revolution that's prescribed by the vet. Luckily, none of my dogs have a bad reaction to it. |
