YT 1000 Club Member | Female Peeing while standing up? My daughter's puppy seems to prefer to stand up with her front paws on the exercise pen and pee while standing like that! She does this almost every morning that I take her outside and during the day as well part of the time. Other times she will pee like normal. I have never seen a dog do this before and I wondered if anyone else had. She is currently 13 weeks old and I have seen her doing this for at least 2 weeks.

| Teddy did this at gates and his pen and the front door and I only later realized it was due to separation anxiety. I am not suggesting that you apply this to your daughters puppy at this stage but it might be something to consider if the behavior doesn't improve later. I hope someone else can come along and give you more advice! |

YT 1000 Club Member | She does this out in the yard with me standing right next to her, so I don't think it is anxiety. That just seems to be how she likes to pee. LOL She is totally calm when she does it, not excited, or anxious or anything. She just stands up and then lets it go. I have just never seen a female dog pee in that position before. This is my "monkey girl" dog who can escape from nearly anything. She climbs over the exercise pen, she has climbed out of the baby playpen and she can get onto nearly anything she wants. At 4 lb 12 oz she is one fast and agile little girl. She was jumping on the couch over 2 weeks ago. Rowan just learned today how to jump on the couch.

Oh, in that case, I'd suggest she is just 'eccentric' haha. Teddy did do this weird thing in front of me but, admittedly, he was still excited i.e. trying to get out of the gate, etc. I have heard that girls mark standing up and stuff, before, but I have never experienced this kind of thing either since I have never owned a female dog! Well, I hope someone can come along and shed some light but I think you should post a video in the meantime..haha! | |

| She's just eccentric . My little girl is too. She pees the exact opposite of your little girl. She does headstands when she pees. Her two hind paws are in the air. |

She is an odd ball kind of girl. Very headstrong, but loving and fun.

| She only does it when we are outside. Because she is so busy being nosey and chasing birds and barking at other dogs, she pees really, really fast. Peeing is actually the only time she slows down when we are outside. . It probably is messy but by girl is a tomboy and loves to get dirty. Besides, she knows momma will make sure she is all cleaned up. There is a video on here with another yorkie peeing the same way. I'll see if I can find it because it's exactly how my little one pees. YT 1000 Club Member | Emergency bath for the silly girl! She laid on an ant hill apparently. Got up and she had ants everywhere. I was pulling them off her by the handful. I got a couple hundred off quickly and then ran her inside and drown the rest of them. This girl is my handful. I am so glad she is my daughter's! I get to keep the calm one. LOL

Rowan is 13 weeks old and compared to Raksha he is calm! He loves to just be in your arms and hang out as much as he can. Raksha typically starts all their shenanigans and just talks her brother into following along with it and getting everyone into trouble.

| Cricket lifts one of her back legs, (not all the way back like a boy, but she definitely lifts her leg.) She just kind of squats on 3 legs and lifts.

| That is how my Elliot pees too. She has done so since we brought her home and continues to. How old is your Cricket? I was thinking Elliot might outgrow it as she got a little bigger. It was so funny to watch her pee when I first brought her home. She was so tiny and her little legs were about two inches long (if that) and to see her peeing with that one little leg in the air, every time she would almost overbalance herself.
