| That's a yorkie.. I'm more concerned that you bought him a 6 weeks. That's way too early to be taken away from his mom. Make sure he eats properly... Grats. |

| I would strongly suggest you purchase several books on the Yorkie breed, the first being one called, "Yorkies For Dummies". It is imperative that you become knowledgable about this breed that you have bought, better late than never. A Yorkie at age 6 weeks is very vulnerable and not vaccinated....parvo is rampant in many States, and it will kill a baby that has qabsolutely no protection. Reputable breeders are more concerned about the health of their babies, and will hold onto a Yorkie puppy until at least 12 weeks of age....vaccinations start at 8 weeks of age, and babies are being supported and cared for by their mommas as well as he breeder, being taught so many lessons that keep any future owner from having to deal with....emotional issues, health issues, behavioral issues, etc.....reputable breeders want to hand over one of their precious babies to a new owner, that is the very best it can be, and in the best condition it possibly can be, which ensures it the best future it can possibly have. Reputable breeders will not sell to a new owner that does not have some basic knowledge about Yorkies, the breed, the specific baby they are wanting to buy, and a general idea of what is "right" and what is "wrong" in any given situation with this new baby. The condition of the pup, the breeding behind the pup, the start in life the pup has had, plus a knowledgable owner, is imperative to ensure this pup is going to survive and thrive. Good luck with your new baby.....get that book immediately and read it cover to cover. I forgot to say, it is illegal to sell puppies before they are 8 weeks old in many States. | Poor pup should still be with their mom until 12 weeks. Please do not leave this little guy alone until he's several weeks older. Also make sure you know about hypoglycemia.

| Hopefully the pup is still at the breeders. In many states it is illegal to sell a pup younger than 6 weeks, so if the pup is already at home, I doubt this was from a reputable breeder. If the pup is already home, you need to make sure he eats several times a day. Also he will miss out on many puppy manners that he would have been taught by mom and littermates, such as socialization and bite inhibition.

| What you have there is one beautiful little yorkie. I would heed the advise of the above members, 6 weeks old is to young to be away from the momma, also FYI it is illegal to sell a 6 week old puppy, Buyer Beware. Watch this puppy for signs of hypoglycemia, make sure he is drinking water and eating, leave a bowl of fresh food out for him at all times.

| Its not illegal to sell a 6 week puppy. Its illegal to separate a puppy from its mother till 8weeks. But only in 25 States...?? The rest have no laws at all. But the Dog Cubs recommend not to sell pups till at least 12 weeks. Because they are protect from nursing and should be receiving the first sets of shots. And proper socialization with the litter mates ,dam and maybe the sire. I receive a 9m puppy. She is alot more well mannered then mine little one....Makes sence. Good breeders wait at least 12 weeks Last edited by ironmike86; 06-07-2015 at 05:51 PM. |

| Yorkie pups and Rotties have almost identical markings at birth until the first few weeks as well as dobies, min pins. If he still looks like that in a few months, I'd worry. |
