| I Can See Why You Love Yorkies! Last Sept. I rescued a slightly senior Yorkie along with his Chi companion from our local shelter. They were thought to be merely neglected. I think they were manhandled - not actually abused, but snatched off their feet, held too long and hurt in various non-malicious ways to the point where they were afraid of everyone. This past couple of weeks they have both started to bloom, especially Toto the Yorkie. He's no longer the little ghost slipping around corners. Now he has suddenly become a sassy funny little guy who is demanding attention and wanting tum rubs. He looks like a hover craft scooting around the floor. He's so funny I may never stop laughing. I never wanted a Yorkie, considering them to be yappy little monsters, but I apparently met the wrong dogs. Toto is as sweet as sugar and just wants to be with you. He's figured out that laps are nice and that he can be lifted (with his permission) without being hurt or scared. He's a real joy to have around. He's obviously a mill dog with bad knees and collapsing trachea, but he's comfortable and they aren't really bothering him right now. If they do I will get him as fixed up as I can. I want this cutie in my life for a long long time. |

YT 1000 Club Member | Awesome on taking them in! I also acquired a senior Yorkie (9 years old). I got him in January, although from better conditions than yours, but he had not been getting the attention he needed. He got a stay at home mom who adores him and he blossomed! Thanks for loving this little guy. They need it so badly. I loved him so much I now have 2 Yorkie Puppies (12 weeks old today) and they are a blast. Brother and sister and full of energy. Teek (my 9 year old Yorkie) is really starting to adjust to them and starting to hang out with them instead of heading for the couch whenever they are in the room. They are all adjusting well to each other. Good luck and I hope we get hear more about Toto's triumphs!
