| Rabies vaccine tomorrow, advice? Trinket is 11 months old and I am finally taking her to get a rabies vaccine. Anything I can do before I take her tomorrow that will help with this? I have asked my vet if he can shave it back due to her weight as she is 2.5 lbs and I am hoping they can but not sure if they will because this is rabies. I wondered if childrens benadryl or anything else may help her before the vaccines in case of any reactions? I worry because I waited this long for my tiny Chihuahuas vaccine and she was 2 lbs and it caused her pain in the hip that made her favor it and put her into luxating patella in both back knees. I know there can be lots of different reactions though :/ |

| Sometimes the vet will give a shot for the pain before the rabies shot. I would check with the vet about the Tylenol- especially the dosage. Good Luck! |

According to their website, my vet uses IMRAB vaccines, but I don't know whether or not they used the TF (thimerosal free) vaccine on Bella--I'll have to check my paperwork when I get home. Please note that only the IMRAB TF vaccines do not contain thimerosal. The other IMRAB vaccines do contain thimerosal. | |

| I didn't know that a little something for the pain would be advised when we got Bella vaccinated a couple of weeks ago. The shot was no big deal, but about 20 seconds later, the sting hit and she started howling. Only lasted about a minute, but all the way home from the vet she let me know she was not happy with me. |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | If you want, you can give Benadryl about 30mins prior to the shot.
