| I like for my new owners to wait until the pup is older, so 6-8 months old, depending on how large the pup is. I also encourage them to stay out of dog parks, and any other places where they could be exposed to rabies....also, there is a rip snorting case of highly contageous canine flu running rampant across the country....they are telling people not to glom up with a bunch of other dogs until this flu winds down.....apparently, the vaccine does NOT cover this strain of flu. |

| Where I live you must get the shot by 6 mos. I waited until 8 mos and sent in for my license with proof of rabies shot and nothing happened. If I was fined I didn't care. It's my dog and my decision when I will get the darn shot.

| Both our 4 month old puppies, Addie and Raider, got their rabies shots last week and are doing fine. It's interesting to note the variations from place to place on what is recommended and at what age. |

| Bruisers vet insisted on 4 months for rabies. But then again I live next door to pikes peak national forest. Lots of wild life in my neighborhood since we don't live in city limits.
