Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | How old will this puppy be for this trip you're thinking about? The main worry would be that the vaccines would not be complete and, therefore, you'd have to be very protective.

| Yes she will be 9 weeks will have had one vaccination. I know I will need to be over protective with her. That's how I'm going to tske my big puppy pen so she got plenty space to play in snd stay safe in. I just couldn't leave her |

YT 1000 Club Member | It's doable, but may be stressful for your puppy. I would make sure she has limited/no contact with other people/outside pets until her puppy vaccines are completed. I would make sure food/water is available to her at all times, get pee pads so she won't have to go in the grass and possibly pick up a virus, have nutrical or some type of supplement on hand if she decides she doesn't want to eat, and know where a vet is at every stop just in case an emergency arises. I'm sure everything will be fine, but it's just better to be prepared. Congrats on your girl! |

YT 1000 Club Member | I asked my vet the very same question when I brought my yorks home. He said it was fine as long as my older dog's vaccinations were utd. I still keep them somewhat separated since one is a puppy and pushes limits at times. |

| Thankyou. Didn't know what to do. Did they get on ok? How did you introduce them to each other? |

YT 1000 Club Member | My older dogs(bulldog and yorkie) have free run off the house, so my new puppy(Veau) is usually crated when I can't keep an eye I her. I let my bulldog(Roxie) and male yorkie(Rasta) meet her through her ex pen. A few days after she came home I let Rasta meet her while he was on my lap. There's not much size difference between the two so I do let them out together but Rasta wants to be left alone most of the time so I have to swoop in and get Veau when his patience gets low. Veau does fine with our bully, but there's a major 57 lb size difference so they never can be left alone together and if I feel uncomfortable with the situation they're separated. You'll be fine! Just take things slow, they may not be best friends in a day but they should eventually get along. |
