Bravecto feedback please Hello everyone, It's been a while since I've posted, but I'm very curious about Bravecto side effects on Yorkies specifically. Obviously because I have a Yorkie, and I really appreciate all the feedback I get from visiting this forum... Rocco's Veterinarian recommended Bravecto because I live in a wooded area where ticks are a great concern, so to protect my Rocco I got one and gave it to him this morning with his meal. I just put it in his bowl and he gobbled it all up... Rocco is 4 mos. old and weighs 4.8 lbs. he recently got into some contaminated water and developed Giardia. He was given Metronidazole (1/2 tablet) on April 20th. And had a bad reaction, so he was given SQ fluids, cerenia injection, and I cooked him chicken & rice for dinner that evening and all of Tuesday. He got to feeling better very quickly. His Dr. Called me to come in & pick up 3 day treatment of Panacur, I started him on Tuesday and he finished his deworming on Thursday, April 23rd. He was 100% better. I sprinkle a 1/2 packet of FortiFlora into his food now since the Giardia scare. i fed him @ 6:30 this morning and he has been just laying down sleeping since he took the Bravecto with his meal. My question is: Did I overdose him with the Bravecto/FortiFlora combination? Or is it normal for him to feel sleepy after taking Bravecto? He's normally so energetic, it's not like him to sleep so much after eating.

well for such a young pup, I would be looking at all those meds he has taken. I am switching to Bravecto next mth. My vet says it doesn't go into all their organs like Trifexis. currently my 3 yr old 10# is on sentinel and advantage, but he loves the water so the switch is a good idea for me. he vomited the trifexis the time I tried it. hope others post comments.

Thanks for all the posts. Rocco did come out of it on his own. His Vet told me that lethargy is one of the possible side effects, and that he will be okay. I for one will NOT be giving Bravecto to him again. I'm just not at all comfortable with the way he became after taking it. Come July, I will be considering other options. Any advice on what to go with in addition to the Revolution? I may go with Nexgard, but not sure yet.

Just gave my 5 1/2 pound Yorkie pup Bravecto on vets advice today. He started vomiting this evening and has done so three times now. Trusted the vet on her advice, but now that I'm reading up on this medication, I would NOT give it to him again. I just hope he gets better now

I have been using for over 1 yr. mine used to vomit trifexis. wondering if I can cut a bigger tablet in half ? hate to use a 11-22 lb tablet for a 12# yorkie.

| Bravecto is the one that supposedly stays in their system for 3 months or something? I'm not comfortable with that, I don't know. I use Nexgard with good results.

My vet said it is much safer than any other tablet because it doesn't go into their system/organs like Trifexis does. I live in FL without much flea problems and a treatment can last 4 mths
