| weight 1.9kg at 15 +4 weeks Well I was so shocked that Asha already weighs 1.9. I noticed over the last few days that she was looking bit plump. Is this over weight for her? |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | The key would be...how does her body feel? Does she "feel" overweight? Puppies don't really get overweight, btw, so I think this is likely just her size...

| Thank you for taking the time to reply. Her rummy sticks out at each side of her tummy. I think exercise would do her good because at the moment she doesn't go out that much. |

| She's still tiny. When I first got my little girl, she hadn't been treated well. She had a very round tummy, that was firm. I knew it didn't feel right and checked her stools. She had worms. UGH. It was a pretty bad case because the vet had to treat her twice, to make sure they got them all. Once she was cleared, her stomach went back to a more normal size. But she didn't really "feel" much lighter. But Sunni's going to be big I think. She's a couple days from 5 months old and 7 lbs, lol. My little Yorkie/moose. You probably already have checked, but if not make sure she's been wormed appropriately and keep her on the meds from the vet. |

YT 2000 Club Donating Member | One of our Yorkie Breeders can correct me but I do believe puppies over 10wks old or so can get too plump or heavy. Moderate weight gain is best I believe. Talk to your vet about this as well.

| @ Traviskr 2.9 at 10 weeks really does make Asha seem light lol. Thank you for your reply. @ MissSunny, Asha is weighed every month without fail. The vet didn't have a problem with her weight gain, I did because up until now the chart showed that as an adult she would weigh 6lb and yesterday she seemed to go off the scale weighing at least 8lb as an adult. @gemy I'm new here and wasn't aware that there were Yorkie breeders on here so thank you for pointing that out to me. |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | She is way too young to be truly "fat" -- I really think she is just going to be a larger yorkie.

| Ashababy, I think its very hard to tell completely until they are a year old. My puppy had huge growth spurts, but she's not fat at all, but she is 7 lbs now at just about 15 weeks. But she's stayed the same for a few weeks now. She's probably going to grow some more, but as long as she's growing properly for her particular size and is healthy, thats what matters the most. Im so comfortable with her size right now and wish she will stay this size. So easy to pick up, but not so tiny that I have to worry as much about her getting hurt accidentally. But I do melt at the sight of grown 5 lb yorkies, lol. |
