| Yorkie Tears What's the best way to groom the eye area in your opinion. And do you prefer to have the eye area more shaved or less shaved to prevent tearing. Thanks |

YT 1000 Club Member | I grew out Rasta's hair and only do sanitary trims/paw pad trimming. His hair doesn't get in his eyes anymore because it's so long but when he was younger and shorter. I used Vaseline to keep it in place and out of his eyes. I use Espree's Plum Perfect Facial Cleanser and baby wipes to keep his entire face clean. |

What is Espree's Plum Perfect Facial Cleaner and why do you use it instead of just water? Where would I get it?

| A member on this forum mentioned she uses a spooly brush ( or some people know it as a mascara brush for eyebrow etc) to keep the dogs eye area clear of tear gunk. I got a 99 cent brush from target and it works great for getting the gunk out of their hair. It was easier for me to use than the flea comb because of the length and slimness. The vaseline is a great idea too. I will have to try that. |

Espree It's at the very bottom. I don't use this every day but I do use it often. The owner of that site is a member here and I believe she offers discount for other members. Feel free to pm her!

| Only one of mine get an occasional crust in the corner of her eye. I just use the baby wash cloth and warm water to clean it out. I wouldn't cut the hair close to the eye. Leave it so it isn't sticking the eye as it grows.

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | I don't think shaving/trimming the area makes it any better, so I leave all my kiddo's eyes natural.

| I use a warm washcloth to wipe out her buggers and tears. I haven't trimmed and I'm not going to. It'll eventually get long enough where it isn't poking her eyes anymore. |
