Yorkie Yakker | so yeah, scammed i found a few adds on 'pennysaver.com' for people selling and or adopting yorkies and i'v had my heart set on one forever! so I'v found this woman who tells me ' i just want them to go to a good loving home, so for the cost of shipping her to you, she's yours' * was giving a story about new work transfer and not being able to keep her two yorkies* - so i work it all out with her. decide on a price and send a money gram- my first mistake apparently- i ALWAYS USE PAYPAL but she would not budge on the money gram thing. so here i am thinking im going to get a puppy to love and that it's all paid for a settled thinking now i just have to wait for an email and a knock on my door. well, i check my email :'( i get this email claiming that the crate my puppy was going to be shipped in wasn't up to the airports standers and that i needed to rent one of there's before they would ship my puppy. - so second mistake i talk to her and tell her i can't afford their ridiculous charge for the crate . she agrees to pay half since it's 'refundable' * like a fool that im usually not :/ i send her another payment. anything for my puppy i guess. well she than puts the puppy on the plan - or at least i think so- so again im excited its all worked out and puppy will be home in a matter of a few hours with a small deture due to delayed flight with the whole crate mess. untill i get an email from the second airport claiming she has to be quarantined because of shots and whatnot- even though i was told she was up to date on all shots and that records were being sent with her! so now they are holding my puppy at the airport under another bogus fee i have to pay or they wont send my puppy and i'll have to pay anyway! they say they will keep her 13 months than charge me for her care anyway! they want $2800 as a querntine fee! like anyone has that just ling around to throw at them!!!!!- again the seller offers to help but after hiding all these fees from me when she should have known about them if she's done it before, she's not getting another penny from me! so yeah, i may or may not actually have a puppy waiting for me sitting in a crate at an airport wondering why she's not home yet and i may have just given some b**ch about $400 that im never getting back that right now I can't afford to "just be out' :/ so yeah. i have no idea what to do now :/ all i wanted to do was open my home to my dream dog, and again im reminded why dogs are far more trustworthy than most humans :/ cuz either im being scammed and there isn't really a dog or there is a dog and they are suffering because this person would rather scam me than do whats best for this dog :/ |

| Tardisyorkie13, I'm so sorry. Yes, you've been scammed. There never was a puppy. Sigh. I hate when people do this crap and hate it even more when innocent people get trapped in it. Hugs to you. |

| I am sorry you have been scammed. WE tried to warn you when you posted on March 6, in the post. BUT most people don't want to believe it. We here know enough about this scam and it has been going on a long time. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/gen...rustrated.html

Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | I'm sorry you gots scammed😪 Don't let it sour you on getting your puppy. I know it's hard but your best bet is to save up and purchase a puppy from a reputable breeder. Also, consider pet insurance if funds are tight since vet bills can add up quickly. |

| The one thing you can feel ok about is that there isn't a puppy suffering at the airport...I received several of these emails and text messages when I first started looking for a puppy. I was even ALMOST scammed by someone that I physically went to see the puppy at her house. After I left my deposit I saw an ad for my pup asking more money....when I did some research I found a report saying that this person had taken a deposit for a pup from the last litter and then emailed the buyer a week before pick up that it had died. I think her play was she took deposits early for a lower price and then if she found someone who would pay more she told the first buyer the pup died. Thankfully I actually received my deposit back. In the end I did find my Winnie! Don't be discouraged.....but be very selective. And be patient. The right yorkie pup will find you!

| Just wanted to add....money gram is virtually a scammers paradise....there won't be much if anything you can do to get your money back unfortunately. Even paypal is not scam proof. I know that's probably not very soothing....I am very sorry you were scammed. Some people just are plain awful.

| I feel awful this happened to you. I know how much you were looking forward to loving this pup. (((hugs))) If you haven't already, you can help stop this from happening to others. Report this to the Federal Trade Commission and contact pennysavers to have the ad taken down.

| I'm really sorry this happened to you. I have been scammed before in a different way. But when there isn't anything you can do about it, you just gotta look at it as a lesson learned. $400 is a lot of money to lose but when you look at it, it could have been a lot worse.

YT 1000 Club Member | I am so sorry that happened to you. As soon as you said MoneyGram it raised all sorts of red flags for everyone here. Mostly because a lot of us have seen it happen to many times before. I had heard of that for a very long time even before I came on here. I hope that you do find your dream puppy very soon. That is a lot of money to be out. Save up and hopefully you will find exactly what you are looking for, or maybe like me, it will find you when you are least expecting it. I would look into Yorkie rescue groups and see if you can't find a good Yorkie that way. Good luck and best wishes to you

| Sadly this is a very common scam and lots of different breeds are used. |
