10 week Yorkie weighing in at 4.7 lbs.... Hi! My Jabba had a vet visit and weighed in at 4.7 lbs. Vet said he did not need to go on a diet. Does anyone else have a yorkie that weighed that much at 9 weeks? His coat also seems fuzzy vs the silky... anybody have cotton coat yorkie? I believe this is what I have! We love his personality, just concerned if he was possibly on the overweight catagory.

My first yorkie weighed 6.2 pounds at 12 weeks when I got him, and finished out at around 11 pounds. He also had a very cottony coat as a puppy, and never did get that beautiful floor length coat, but he was the cutest yorkie ever! Diana

There are a lot of teapot yorkies on this site. My second yorkie tips the scale at over 12 pounds. We rescued him as a two year old so I have no clue what his puppy weights were, but the jumbo shrimps just mean more yorkie to love! Diana

Teddy is small but his coat is like cotton! It is exactly like the middle of a cotton ball in the middle after being torn apart!

| My passed girl as an adult weighed in at 17lbs. I can't remember what her weight was at 8 weeks old when I got her. She was beautiful with a sleek body, all dog, no fat. My adopted boy weighs 12.5 Lbs. Just more baby to love.

Your pup is not overweight. He is just larger than what you would expect a Yorkie would be at that age. Many breeders sell their pups at a very young age in order to avoid having to explain the size of their pups.

YT 1000 Club Member | He's a puppy so I don't think he can be overweight. He may be a bigger yorkie when he's completed growing or he could level out and be no more than 6-lbs. Were his parents/grand sires/dams on the bigger spectrum of the scale? That should give you a general idea. I'm sure he's darling! |

Chase was about 5lbs at 12 weeks, and at almost 6 years old he's 11-12lbs He also has the cottony coat, so we keep him in a puppy cut.

Charlie is 10 weeks old and weighs 3 lbs. I recently started a similar thread titled Large Yorkies. I pretty much wondered the same thing and was figuring he is going to be a larger yorkie. He's adorable regardless though. A bit of a brat but adorable.

I think Magnus was about that weight around 10 weeks. He's now 16.5 lbs. I have to admit... he's bit of an oinker and needs to go on a diet. lol
