| bath time suggestions? Does anyone have advice for the clean up after bath time? It always takes me at least 1/2 an hour to wipe down all of the surfaces in the bathroom after the yorkies have their baths. I was hoping maybe some one had a time saver. It went a little faster last time because I finally got smart enough to use a dry towel to wipe everything down with first and then I sanitized. Those little yorkie hairs like to stick on everything!

| Sounds like a big job, :-) I minimize the area affected by bathing in the kitchen sink with towels around within shaking distance. Immediately I am done, I put a towel around him so no more mess . I can imagine areas around the bath are difficult and hope you can either do it in the sink or by other technique that others here may suggest. Good Luck By the way I don't seem to have a hair problem, perhaps a brush down before the bath to catch the loose hairs? Last edited by dottiesyrky; 02-16-2015 at 09:48 AM. |

Do you use a hair dryer? I think it is the source of most of the fly away hairs. But they shake so badly that I hate to leave them wet. I will try brushing before the bath to see if that helps. The kitchen's not an option. I have to be able to confine them so they don't get away before they are dry.

| Bathing Sorry you are not able to use the sink. Luckily my boy stands quietly during the washing. I do not use a dryer, he hates the noise. I just wrap him in an absorbent towel and mop dry and brush until he is almost dry, then he runs around and finishes the job, :-) He does have a puppy cut though and this technique would not work for long hair. |

Ok. I am going to try this with Barney today. I'm afraid Anna will have to be dried because she has a thick coat. But Barney should dry quickly. Thanks for the suggestion. It's to the point that I dread the clean up much more than grooming.

| I put my babies into there harness, then i leash them to the sink. They both appeared calm as i gave them there first bath in the kitchen sink. I placed them in a towel before washing the other. Both were shivering but i quickly wrapped them up into a blanket and held them, they both passed out for a hour nap. They didn't seem bothered except being cold but i was right there comfort them and warm them up so i don't think they cared. Was only the first bath but was suprised how easily it was for me. They wee good girls☺ |

| I wash Cody in the shower, it's just a shower, not a bathtub with a shower head. The shower area is not huge and I have a hand held shower head. I put a bath mat in front of the shower to catch water from him shaking water off and keep 2 towels right beside me. Cody is the best pup I ever had when it comes to bath time. When we are finished I wrap a towel around him and lift him out of the shower onto the floor mat, rub him real good, then take the 2nd towel and rub again. He losses no hair, I use the blower on low setting because he is scared of blower noise. When he is partly dry I open bathroom door and let him loose. No mess in the bathroom other then wet towels. And that's how we do it here on the mountain.

| Cody is 3 y/o, he's my rescue baby, he get's into a corner of the shower, not scared and well behaved. I should wear a bathing suit, I get more water from shower head on me lol, no time for my shower, to busy chasing the boy with a towel to use to rub on and not use my bed or sofa lol. He's getting better with using the towel on the floor and rubbing him self, of course I have to sing the rub rubie song to him lol. All my past dogs would rub them selves on their towels when I sang my made up rubie song to them lol.

| I have a big plastic bin - like a storage bin you would put clothes in. I put that in the shower, put her in it, run the water over her as it fills up, soap her up, rinse her, take her out and she's done. If she shakes, it's in the shower. No problemo. |
