| What happened to Zoey this am? A few minutes before 3am it sounded like zoey fell out of bed (which she has never done) and was struggling to walk on the hard wood floors. I have a carpet at the end of my bed which she uses to land on when she gets off the bed. I turned on the light and she was walking unsteadily and I picked her up and held her on my lap. She urninated on my leg and was panting very hard. She was also swallowing over and over. I held her until she stopped panting and swallowing - about half an hour. She then layed down next to me as usual. This was not a seizure like my Gina used to have. Gina would fall down and convoluse. This morning she did eat her breakfast but is subdued. Are there different kind of seizure than the typical epileptic type?

| It could be something simple like rolling out of bed and knocking herself out or something more serious like a Neuro or cardio problem. In any case she needs to be seen today.

| Sounds like the poor thing fell out of bed and startled/traumatized herself pretty badly. Poor baby. With that being said, the "peeing" part worries me some....

| Or she fell out of bed due to a medical situation she was having, which further traumatized her from the blunt force trauma. Thank goodness for vets at times like this. Please let us know what the tests show - we're praying until then for this poor baby.

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | It sounds like she hit her head and/or bit her tongue. I'd be worried about a head injury here.

| How old is she? If Zoey was my baby I'd be at the vet this morning. Before these two precious bundles I have, I had a little Bichon. He stiffened up one evening and fell off the bed and reacted much like Zoey has. The vet said he had a stroke. So, I would at least have the vet check her out. I just wish they could talk!

| Zoey was to be groomed today ( at the vet's office) but I cancelled because I wasn't sure if she would be ok today. She was just fine yesterday and today she is just her normal self so I will take her with me when I take Jackson in this morning and see if she can still be done. I did not take her yesterday because I stayed home with her an watched her constantly for any signs of neuro problems. There were none. I think she just fell off the bed - the side that does not have a carpet and scared herself and me to death. I was ready to go to the ER at the time if she didn't stop panting and relax which she did but I did not think it was necessary to go yesterday. If this should happen again I will DEFINITELY take her immediately.

| By the way, I didn't get any responses in my mailbox. Just saw these this morning. I wish I would get mail when I respond to a thread.

| This happened to my lil man, only he fell off the couch at 11 weeks. I picked him up and he was jerking, head jerked to the side, tongue hanging out and teeth clenched. He stopped breathing, After CPR, Nutrical and a emergency vet trip for evaluation, the vet said puppy went hypo, had seizure which caused the fall. At the time my puppy had coccidia and kennel cough and wasnt eating. The CPR and nutrical saved his life. Thank goodness there was no damage from the fall! And lil shooter is up and going, no more coccidia or kennel cough!
