| Welcome home Lil Shooter J. Well Shooter has been home with us for about a week. It has been a tough week, we have dealt with hypoglycemia, cocididia and upper respiratory infection! We love him, I have been in contact with the breeder, who offered to take him back until he got well, but we chose to keep him here with us. He seems to be doing a little better, he is eating now, poop is solid and he plays. He is on Albon, Clavomax, and Robittusun DM. Still coughing a lot and sometimes coughs up clear mucous. I have a great vet, 3 trips in a week, 1 emergency. I highly expect this upper respiratory infection is kennel cough, which from what I have read can go on for months sometimes. What a precious face, how could you not love it!

| Thank you so much, I know I will probably get slammed on here for not giving him back to the breeder, I did my research and found a good breeder. I have a friend who has the sibling of Shooter's and she is very healthy. I guess no matter how much you try to find the best, its just a gamble. So when you get one, it doesn't matter what happens, they are ours! We were afraid the breeder would try to replace him, and we were already attached, so good or bad, we take and deal with whatever may come.

| I hear ya, I would do just as you are doing. I could never give back, once a baby is in my arms it's mine. He will get one on one treatment with you. At least with you, you know what meds. he's getting, you know you will be on top of everything. He's such a little sweetie and found the perfect mom.

| I am so sorry to hear your new little boy is off to a rough start, and I am especially sorry that you have to deal with all this right now. It sounds like you have things under control, the best you can, and he will get well under your loving care. Hopefully this will be he end of his health issues, and he will have smooth sailing after this

| We really think it may be a possibility, he was tested for coccidia at his wellness check the morning after we got him, and tested negative and didn't start coughing until the 2nd day we had him. After the seizure the 3rd day and CPR performed by my husband and I and Emergency trip to the vet, they re-tested for coccidia and it was positive. I only have one other animal, a 14 year old chihuahua who is healthy other than conjestive heart failure. All other siblings from the litter are fine, so I hate to speculate on how it all came about. Hopefully NOT from the well vet check up, but also a possibility I guess. But thankfully he is on his way to getting healthy!
