| What a terrible day... Took Poppy to the vet today for her second vaccination. It was a different vet from what we usually see, I explained her story, had her for about 7 weeks ( she's 13/14 weeks old) and she has been not well since day 1. Coughing etc. He had a feel about, and a listen and randomly ran a scanner over her back. It turns out that Poppy has already been chipped, she has an eastern European chip. We are based in Scotland and bought her from a "breeder". In fact this woman paid someone who has transported Poppy from Eastern Europe to the UK. She had a female yorkie which she claimed was Poppy's mum..the whole thing was a lie. The reason the Vet checked this was because another little yorkie same DOB as Poppy was registered to them and when it came to chipping the dog they found he was already chipped. It is pure luck that both of the dogs bought are now living in the same Town with the same vet. I wouldn't change her for the world but I am raging we paid this woman money for a dog that wasn't even hers let alone from this country. I dread to think what poor Poppy has been through for the first 8 weeks of her life (if it even was 8 weeks) she has been getting extra cuddles all day!! |

| So.. she's a puppy broker? If the pups are already chipped, it was the original breeder(?) that chipped them or the lady you bought her from? There's no authority you can report that lady to? It's great that Poppy found a good home and something that loves her so much. In that respect, things worked out for the better in my opinion. As for that lady.. KARMA. |

| She claimed to be the breeder but basically she has bought these pups off someone from Europe and sold them on. It's a chip that is registered to Eastern Europe but doesn't actually give any address details. Apparently they need to be chipped to enter the UK. The poor other wee pup nearly died the first night he was so unwell. Just a bad case of Kennel Cough with my wee Poppy but still. I can report her to trading standards but I doubt they will do anything. All she has to say is "no I didn't" and I cant prove anything! |

| Thanks! I have contacted trading standards today, I doubt they will do anything but worth a try. I have also contacted Pet Log to get the microchip changed to my details, they are sending forms out. They wont tell me where she is originally from though. One good thing to come out of this though is that we have been in contact with the woman who bought the other dog, we were told they were brother and sister, either way they have travelled over together and once Poppy is fully recovered will be having a play date. She is being spoiled absolutely rotten and I wouldn't have it any other way!! |

| There was a programme on in the uk about this some time ago , apparently is is becoming a problem, some dogs are being transported so young and some people are even having their dog taken off them due to rabies injections , I can't remember all the details but the trading standards people had something to do with this programme . It may have been a Which or Dispatches. programme. I hope your wee dog is ok but goodness knows what it has been through, someone needs to stop this horrible trade. Shame on the person who was pretending that this was her dogs pup , what is wrong with people.

| Will need to have a look for that programme would be interesting to see. I looked it all up the minute I got home and rabies is the first thing that came up, I've had her since 22nd Dec now so assume if this was a problem symptoms would have started by now? |

| I think if your vet thought there would be a problem with rabies they would have done something about it.

| Hi I it was definitely a channel 4 dispatches programme, it was upsetting to watch. I'm glad that your little one is ok , I'm sure you will spoil her even more now.
