| I would steer clear of all things Purina, for starters. Those symptoms could def be food related. Make sure the dog is getting enough fatty acids (EFAs), maybe fish oil supplements. I also give organic vigin coconut oil. Great for the skin & coat. You can also massage the coconut oil into the dog's pads. Then if it gets licked off, it won't hurt.

| Agree about Purina. No bueno. The food MAY be the culprit of the dry skin and feet, but if not, if could be allergies, or, I found that Uni's itchy dry skin was caused from hard water. Now we have a softener and she has scratched like 99.9% less than before.

| Yeah, water surely can be a culprit, as well. I give Lexie only filtered water. Between that & good food no more tear stains. Just another thing to rule out.

| If anything, you might also have them switch shampoo/conditioner to something more for moisture and sensitive skin like something oatmeal based or for puppies (unless they have an oatmeal allergy). And maybe even apply something like an edible oil to help with the dryness. I recently started my girl on a coconut oil regime. I'd feed her a little bit of it and use a few drops to massage into her paw pads (they aren't exactly crusty dry, but they have been drier than usual) and belly area. Just enough to rub some on, not to make her too greasy. I may even rub a drop or two into her fur, though it's mostly for shine as she always have soft fur. Either way at first she'll still look slightly greasy but it'll absorb into the hair leave it shinier. When applying to fur and skin (exclude paw pads) always rub the oil in your hands so it'll warm up and spread better. And always use organic coconut oil (the kind that solidifies). For her I may do it once a week, in your case I might suggest doing it twice a week. Best after a bath of course when the skin is moistened and softened.

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | You could try supplementing w/ fish oil, to see if she is lacking fatty acids/oils. I like Ark Naturals Royal Coat and get it at Amazon. For paws, I'd moisturize w/ either coco oil or a paw moisturizer from the pet store.
