| How much do you spend at the groomers? Hi! Just curious at what age did you take your Yorkie to the groomer and how much did you end up paying? Also post some before and after pictures if possible please?? |

| I think it really depends on region but around here, it can cost anywhere between $60-$100. This is for the full service which includes: bath, haircut, nail trims I didn't take either one of mine to the groomers until they looked really shaggy... I'd say about 6-7 months. Make sure you research the groomer before you take your furbutt. There were quite a few horror stories I've read. |

| You shouldn't take them before two weeks after there last shots. For both Callie and my moms yorkie it's about $90.00 it's actually one of the cheapest around my area but it depends a lot on your area. Petco charged $100 for just Callie before we had Sammy. The mobile groomer who works for a grooming salon where they train very hard and actually win awards is about $120 for both dogs. We go to our vets office though and everyone knows them and us so I am very comfortable taking them there.

| It cost me $35 to get my puppy groomed. This was without a nail trim. They had only done a puppy trim which wasn't as intense so he would get used to the groomers. I think their usual price is $50 and she told me every 6 weeks. He needs to go back soon because he starts looking like a wild man. His first time was at 4 months. |

| You COULD always groom him yourself at home. That's what I do now. I don't like them being crated for I don't know how long till it's their turn. Alot of the members here groom their furbutts at home as well. |

| $35, plus tip for each dog. This includes full service (bath, cut, nail trim, ears cleaned). Both dogs are kept in puppy cut. Mine go to the groomer every 8-10 weeks and I bathe them at home weekly.

| In my area it's $55.00 for full package which includes ears, nail clipping, 45 minutes and the demon is out lol. Cody bites the crate so as soon as he's finished I get the call, lol.

| It costs $60 for Bella at the best groomer in town, plus $10 extra for the "spa" treatment. Here are before and after pictures of Bella from her first trip to the groomer: Before: http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/att...-5-30-2013.jpg After: http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/att...-5-30-2013.jpg After: http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/att...-5-30-2013.jpg |

YT 2000 Club Donating Member | If you can nail trim and do a sanitary clip, hey why go to a groomers? As a puppy start with a blunt nose pair of scissors. You can use these for a long while. Sanitary Trim: With your blunt nose scissors, trim underneath the tail. Trim around the anus. Picture the anus as a clock, and trim from 12 back to 12. Then trim down either side of back leg a couple of inches. Get a small comb and brush. Brush and comb out the facial furnishings. THen the body of the dog and legs. Get a pair of moustache trimmers and do his ears. Lots of good vids on youtube for the grooming of a Yorkie

| I pay $30 to get Ziva cut short. I take her about 4 times a year. I offered to bring her bathed but the groomer likes to do it herself- she calls me as soon as she's finished- usually 2 hours. I think the average price here is closer to $35-40. Abby is so easy with her fine silky hair she thought I should just do her myself, so I do! |
