| Meet Sasha-Sasha Fierce!! This little girl will be joining my family in about 4 weeks, we are so excited but it is also bittersweet. My first Yorkie, Misha, was only a year old was hit by a car a few months ago and my husband and I took it so hard. She was the light of all our dogs, she made them play and enjoy life although they are either old or lazy. She always started the night in bed with me, but always ended up snuggled in with our lab mix whom she was bonded with. She got out under a hole my lab dug and got hit. We've since installed an invisible fence so that this will never happen again, I've felt so guilty since it happened, it was my job to protect her and I didn't Sorry, I just had to get that out there. I can't imagine not having a Yorkie in my life. I have fallen in love with the breed and that spunky personality! Sasha is only charting to be 4-4&1/2 pounds full grown. She is soooo tiny but so sweet and cute. Misha was a big ole teapot at 10.5 pounds so this will be a big change. So any advice regarding smaller yorkies will be greatly appreciated!! |

| I'm so sorry for your loss, but a puppy is just the thing to help heal your hearts. Please be sure to post some pic's after she gets home. We all love baby pictures!

| My sincere condolences for your loss. I'm sure you're probably manic as to safety, but will reiterate that these guys are lightening fast and smart and with Sasha being so tiny it's gonna be even trickier to track her! I wouldn't let her out of your sight and would not trust an invisible fence--except as backup to your being right there. Piper is @10 lbs and I can't tell you the number of times she's "disappeared" right in front of me (in house and backyard--otherwise she is always on a leash), only to pop up next to or behind me with this quizzical what's all the hollering about, I'm right here look on her face! Sasha is a wonderful tribute to your Misha and she will make things right again... 'Just living is not enough, one must have sunshine, freedom, and a little dog' |

| Thank you! I'm not even sure I'll let her in the backyard without a leash being so traumatized by before! You made me think about tracking her if she does get out of my sight, so I think I'll buy a bell to attach to her collar so I can hear her where-abouts! With ones so tiny, is it better to pee-pad train? |

| Oh and the electric fence is only for my huge lab mix so he doesn't dig out anymore, not my little dachshund or soon-to-be Yorkie!!! It was either the electric fence or send him to the pound since the neighbors were getting upset that he kept getting out and is very difficult to catch. He's a rescue, and I just couldn't get rid of him without trying everything!! Just wanted to make sure people didn't think I was shocking a poor tiny baby!!! |

| Knowing that anything can happen in an instant, through no fault of own, is what makes me kinda crazy in trying to keep Piper (and previous companions) safe! I think your idea of attaching a bell to your baby's collar is a clever idea---I may just try it with mine! |

Donating YT 2000 Club Member | I would pee pad train only if you can. My youngest one is 2 years old and under 2lbs, she is all pee pad trained - love the not worrying about her having to go outside - we live in a very wooded rural area. When we travel, just got back from a week to Key West, it is so much more convenient to have pads to put down for her then getting a leash & rushing outside.

YT Addict | I cant imagine how you feel. These little guys are so quick. Mine tore out of the house the other day. Scared us to death we live in an apt. But either one you or the other poster would have let anything happen to your babies. Please dont beat your selves up. Now im thrill your getting a new baby. Just watch walking . Im sure you know low blood sugar. Wonder if you could make a smaller area for your baby to go outside. Watch for large birds owls etc. Might want a set of steps or ramp for her to get on your bed. I would chip her. I dont know about where you live but where we are they steal yorkies to sell. I wont take mine to town unless i sitin car with them. YOU ARE A GOOD MOMMIE you will do great. |
