| adding another dog My husband and I have 2 yorkies a 8 yr and soon to be 7 yr boy/girl. Thinking about adding another dog (rescue/puppy), not necessarily a yorkie bred dog. What experiences do you guys have with adding an adult or a puppy to what we have as explained as a "bonded pair?" Is it difficult and would you add a boy or a girl. Tobie is very laid back, happy with his bone and whatever is going on as long as he's close to someone Ella is very active, busy total opposite They love each other like crazy, have a sister (tobie's litter mate) who lives with my parents in Raleigh and they all get along very well. We've been battling infertility for awhile now and just have the urge to "mother" and not sure if its right to add a new dog, but really want to. Hubby no sure - any feedback would be great! |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | We have 2 boys and a girl yorkie, and recently added a chi rescue whom we were fostering and then adopted. They all get along very well. I'm actually not sure on what it'd be like to add another to a "bonded pair"...good question! Hopefully someone w/ this experience will chime in .

| I don't have any experience but from what I've read, it seems to depend on the dogs personality. If Tobie and Ella is good with other dogs, then I don't think they'd have a problem with a new furry member. If you're going to rescue, I would think the organization would have a good idea of what their dog's personality is like and would be able to advise you on whether s/he would be a good fit for your family. |
