| Hi everyone Three months ago we adopted a two year old rescue Yorkie. He had no name so we called him Marco and he owns me. He weighs 10.6 pounds and he is not fat! i've always had terriers but never a Yorkie and now I have a Teapot Yorkie. He needs some socializing, likes women and is somewhat afraid of men. He comes with baggage, but every day he gets surer and more comfortable. He is smart, feisty, funny, loving, cuddly and everything a terrier should be. I will probably have lots of questions. | Hi Marco's mom. I could have written your post. Our little rescue is about two but we've only had him about two months, and he's a little bigger teapot at 12 pounds. He had no name so we call him Ranger. At first he was shy and submissive. I've had other yorkies - so I thought this time we finally got a calm one. NOT! The longer he's here, the more we see that crazy yorkie personality coming through. He's turning into a real yorkie terror - which makes me happy. He also came with a lot of baggage, likes women and kids and is unsure around men. He was also un-neutered and marked like a faucet. Neutering, constant supervision and a belly band helped, and we've got the marking about 90% under control now. I say 90% only because I still don't trust him completely, but he hasn't used the belly band in over a week and I haven't caught him trying to mark and haven't found any evidence. He still marks like a crazy man outside though and I think every square inch of our backyard has been claimed by him. It is so fun to watch them blossom into the silly little dogs they were meant to be! Diana |

| Welcome to YT, sounds like Marco is coming around slowly but surely. Just be patient with him. You don't know what his past has been, what horrors he may have had to face, You can take him to pet stores like Pet Supplies, PetCo, Pet Smart even Lowes and Home Depot for a little socialization. I adopted my boy at 2 1/2 y/o, he also LOVED women but scared of men. I have him 14 months now and he loves all people, he just needed more socialization with men. My best friend of 40 years would come over once a week with treats and a new toy. My past girls were scared of men because there are mostly woman in my family, deep men's voice scared them. It takes time for them to trust again, but he will be just fine. Thank you for rescuing this little boy.

| Diana, sounds like quite a coincidence! Marco is housebroken. Thank God for that, believe me, I'm grateful. He was not neutered when I got him so doing that supported the habit. This is my first rescue, I've always had rather fancy dogs but I figured it was time to get a needy little guy. I can't tell you the difference three months makes. He's becoming a self-confident little fellow. Very bossy, I love that. |

| ,Marco seems to have a delicate trachea. At first when he started coughing we thought it was kennel cough, and he took the antibiotics and was isolated but it wasn't that at all. When he is on the leash, even with a harness he coughs and even sometimes with vigorous exercise he'll cough. My other terriers (not Yorkies) never had this. He doesn't cough a lot just sometimes. I'm trying to get him to walk nicely on a leash, important because he's over ten pounds and can really pull! Not a problem for most of you. Goodnight Owned by Marco |
