| Puppy corn in bedroom I'm considering putting Zoey's xpen in my bedroom. I have no real good reason do this. Her xpen is in the dining room not far from my bedroom. She doesn't cry at night and has no seperation issues. She goes on her washable pads every time. I'm just looking to rearrange furniture and don't want the xpen in the dining room anymore. Has anyone ever done this? Did it go well. I'm concerned with the smell of the nighttime poops waking me up. |

| Hahaha! I'm new here and opened this thread thinking "puppy corn? What do I have to worry about now!?" I don't have an answer as I crate Train Tucker's. He sleeps right next to my bed in his crate but he holds it through the night so I'm no help. |

| As long as you are good about changing the pads frequently, and immediately pick up and flush poop, it shouldn't be an issue. I routinely put ZoE's potty area in my room when I have workmen/repair men here, or when I have a party and don't want her underfoot.

If you have an aversion to poopy smells, and your baby's poop stinks....mine dont smell and are firm and small because of the dog food.....then you will be awakened during the night by the smell of poop! I have a hard time when I have a new momma and puppies at the foot of my bed....with all the extra stuff she gets, her poops stink, and it wakes me up....ruins a good nights sleep, getting up and cleaning out a crate/picking up poop. | |

| Is it usual for dogs to poop in the middle of the night??? ZoE only poops twice a day. Once in the morning after eating breakfast, and the second time early evening after eating dinner. As i'm obviously home both times (as. I just fed her), I'm there to immediately pick up and flush the poop, so there is no lingering smell. She also gets a late evening snack before bed, but doesn't poop then. I figured that was normal potty behavior. Is it different for those that free feed?

| I free feed....some poo once a day, some poo 3 times a day, some poo early afternoon and then again in the middle of the night...it varies from each dog. |

| I would have thought that if your puppy was doing well apart from you then there is no need to change things up by moving to your bedroom. As you say, there are no issues with separation anxiety or crying at night so it sounds like all is going great! You can always bring the puppy to your room when they are older and trained? It sounds like you have a very independent and confident little puppy and that's great news! |
