| Busy days - time with walkers during the week? Hi folks. I just joined, but have been lurking and reading advice here for a while. Let me start off by saying thank you for the tips on the organic pumpkin (TJ's), good foods (Wellness Simple here) and foods to stay away from (grapes), dealing with allergies, and the like. So thanks everyone!! My issue - I used to work from home so spending enough time with Hobbes was never an issue. Now I'm working later hours and need to spend more time at the gym (it's starting to affect my health, I'm not generally a health nut). I might be out the door by 7am and home by 9/10pm. Anyway... I have a dog walker who is absolutely great, and I'm trying to evaluate how much time walk/play time she needs during the week. I'm thinking 20 and 60 minute walks/plays, switching every other day (which would keep it affordable for me). I'll still have some time in the evenings and of course the weekends. Thoughts? |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Aww, your little on is SO cute!! Welcome to YT! Yeah, I think 20-60 mins seems reasonable. I'd maybe see if I could shoot for 20-30 mins, and do it more often...rather than the 60 mins...? Just a thought.

| Welcome to YT. Your little one is precious. Our dog walker (me) tries to walk them at least 30 min every day but today is too cold and it is snowing so we will just play indoors till they get tired of me.

YT 2000 Club Donating Member | Do you have the option to select 30minute walks daily that would cost about the same as one 20 minute walk and one 60 minute walk? Or do a late morning walk and late afternoon walk - 15 min 15 min Next day a 40 minute walk 20 morning 20 late afternoon. I think if you are away from 7am to 9-10 pm I might opt for having shorter walks 2x per day - also we are entering that dratted winter cold - so maybe shorter walks are the ticket here. Also inquire if you can get a better deal if (and once you know you like the dog walker), if you purchase a month or a 2 or a 3mth package..... And maybe a deal if it is too cold to walk long outside an indoor play session.

| If you're going to be gone from 7am-9/10pm, I would suggest having someone come twice, rather than one big chunk. I think 2-3 short visits of 15-20 mins would be better than one long visit of 60. I am a dog walker and we do this often for people who are gone long hours, we visit twice a day.

| When I leashed walked my dogs it was 30 minutes at 7:30AM then off to work I went, returned home at 4:30PM another 30 minute walk. 10PM they were taken curb side for their last pee-pee for the night, then it was bed time.

| Absolutely!! I used to watch a Rottie and big Black Lab and loved it. Currently the bigger dogs I walk are a St Benerard and a Bouvier Des Flandres, awesome dog! I'd love to meet a BRT....

My childhood dog was a Bouvier! My parents got him when I was 2 and he died when I was 17. That's a long life for a big breed. But I absolutely love them. Great dogs! OMG I just got immediately happy when I read your message.

| Thanks everyone! Really appreciate your suggestions. The 2x might be a good alternative, I'm going meet with my walker and see if I can come up with an affordable plan |
