| Yorkie Buyer Hi there, just beginning in Yorkie talk, one reason was because my first little man lived to be 17 years old, and I was out of the loop for that long. I bought a little male 5 years ago in Atoka, Ok. He recently had to undergo two surgeries, the first for Tracheal Collapse, and due to that Larynx Collapse. I don't really think my seller was at fault there. He was 4 1/2 years old before it came on him, cost in excess of $6500.00. I called her to talk to her about it and she tried to trade me for another. Why would I trade my baby, I don't care about the money, he's my baby. I had him clipped when he was old enough in the beginning. I'm glad I did since I recently found out it is hereditary, and I have no wish to breed unless it would be one time to make me a litter of my own little ones. Who would then be fixed for sure. But now that my story is long anyway, I have recently decided to purchase a little female as a companion only for my little 5lb male. But searching the web and then seeing everything about the puppy mill situation and I have recently started searching everyplace I look at now. I don't know who to buy from. Am actually afraid to buy now, but want a little girl so bad. Who knows of some respectable sellers? ANYONE!!! |

| Please do all the research you and can and if you think you've found somewhere reputable come back here BEFORE purchasing to get some opinions. Even though others may have no experience with the proposed breeder (or they may, you never know!), they will be able to pick up on any red flags or good signs and you will then be armed with knowledge. Welcome to YT from a fellow Okie! |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | You might want to buy from a show breeder, some of whom are very reputable. Check The Yorkshire Terrier Club of America to look for breeders. I got my Marcel (avatar) from a show breeder named Kathy Murphy at Welcome To GoldDust Yorkies! Breeder and Exhibitor of Yorkshire Terriers.

| You should contact Deb Sillers (Amazing Yorkies here on YT). I know she has a female puppy or two available now. She has a 5 year health guarantee. Several here on YT have puppies from her. Her email is deb@amazingyorkies.com Home phone 541-479-4429

This is from the first page on the website. I have highlighted all the things that show this is not a good breeder: We are a small ranch located in the Kiamichi Mountains of Southeastern Oklahoma. We have been raising a variety of pet quality puppies since 1986. Chihuahua, Bichon Frise,Poodles, Maltese, and several differant designer breeds. We speicialize in teacups, toys and miniatures. All of our puppies are guaranteed healthy and happy and well socialized. They receive the best of care and nurturing from our family and veternarian | |
