| Why does everyone think my yorkie doesn't look like a yorkie? Hi all, Last week i brought home a 3 month old precious parti yorkie. As I've been going in public with him, everyone seems to be telling me that he doesn't look like a yorkie at all, now i'm actually worried that maybe my breeder lied to me because he's supposed to be purebred. My only issue is that i did buy him online so i cannot prove for sure that he is 100% other than what i was told through the website and the fact that it says he and his parents are both ACA registered yorkies. (mind you this is a reputable website) So i guess my question is if he looks like a yorkie or not..? |

| I have an AKC parti yorkie, and they have similar coloring, but a huge difference in face and coat. ACA registry can register anything, mixed or not. I would question if the pup was mixed too. What website did you buy him from?

| Your baby is adorable. Keep in mind that not everyone knows dog breeds really well. If you say just Yorkie, people may only know traditional color Yorkies and may be confused. Before I joined YT, I didn't know about Partis or Biewers.

| Well he is adorable either way but I can understand your concern...especially if you paid a yorkie/biewer /parti price. I hope someone can help you get some answers! |

| He is adorable and the hair cut throws me off too. Im curious to know what the website is also. I wouldn't worry about what other people say but I understand your concern. How much did you pay for him if you don't mind me asking. |

| i got him from purebred breeders.com and i paid about 1,600 for him ! we actually just got his hair cut because when we first got him his hair was extremely stringy and at an awkward length.. his hair isn't as fluffy as i expected it to be so I'm not sure what is going on... |

Your baby is cute....I did a lot of research and I have seen a wide range of looks for Parti yorkies just as traditional yorkies also have a wide range of different looks. Were you able to see the parents? Seeing the parents gives you an idea of what they will look like when they are adults.

| Most people only know the traditional color of a yorkie. Although since the ACA is not a reputable registry he could be a mix.

| Your pup is so cute I wouldn't worry about it. The Parti Yorkie was created here in America from AKC Yorkshire Terriers that carried the parti gene color. A breeder in California created the line by breeding more and more of the white recessive gene color together to eventually become what we see today, as being almost all white.
