| Where are all the 10 pound-plus Yorkshire Terriers? Greetings everyone, I'm new to threads and forums and happy to be part of your community now. I have been wanting to add another Yorkshire Terrier to my family and am having a dickins of a time finding a Yorkie with any size and weight to it. It seems the breed has been taken over by "Teacups." Is there any one out there who has information or guidance on where I might continue my search? I would be very satisfied to have a Yorkie in need of a new home, or a rescue, senior, adult, male or female. I have other dogs and a cat and we all get along well. Thank you for any assistance that may be offered. (I would add a "Tag" but don't yet know what that is. Thanks again. |

| Now I got my larger yorkie from a breeder but I think they are harder to come by that way. I would look for rehomes, shelter dogs and rescues. Believe it or not there are people who surender them because they have gotten too big

| Don't know what "pm'd" means. Hello, What does "pm'd" mean? I haven't a clue. Thank you for clarifying. |

You can look under the heading of "User CP" toward the top left this page, click on it and it will take you to your own "User Control Panel". On the left of the page, under the heading of "Your Control Panel", look down on the left side of the page and find "Private Message" as a heading for your list of, sending, tracking, etc., private message you send or are sent to other members.

| You might want to search on Petfinder. All of the rescues list there. Yorkie Haven Rescue has some but they are not in your state. If you are willing to travel, you could apply to adopt; but I think you could find some on Petfinder. Good luck in your search!

| Piper is in the 10lb range and we've run into maybe three or four other Yorkies who weigh that or more during our neighborhood walks...so they are out there! I adopted/rescued Piper (4yrs) about 7 months ago. I totally agree that her weight/size is perfect!!!! And yes, I am 100% biased because she's my perfect little Piper girl!!! Wishing you good, good luck with finding your new little partner! |
