| Mystery solved So last night i did my normal nightime routine. I took my shower and when I got out, I saw my house shoes and an old baseball cap in the middle of the floor. Now you are problem asking why is this a mystery or what is so creepy about that. Well I tend to take my showers late at night and when I do, I lock the bedroom door. I live alone which makes this seem really creepy at first. Of course Dutch is in there with me and she would bark her pretty little head off if someone were come into the room. When I saw the houses shoes and an old baseball cap in the middle of the floor, I stopped dead in my tracks. The house shoes were practically brand new and had been sitting in my closet for at least 3 years. I NEVER WORE THEM. Creepy right? It gets better. Each shoe was sitting side by side as if I had place them there intentionally. I look over at Dutch as she was sitting in her bed calmly chewing on the old baseball hat. When I saw that I got even more freaked because I hadn't seen that hat in years but I also knew it was somewhere in the closet if I really wanted to wear it. So now I have a mystery on my hands. I am really freaked out because no one is in my bedroom because Dutch would of been barking. The door to my bedroom was still locked when I got out of the shower so how did the shoes and the hat get there. In my mind it was a spirit. What else could it possibly be? My cat just past away and she was sending me a sign right? I figured it was a benevolet spirit because again Dutch didn't bark at all. So if it was a spirit that Dutch didn't know she would of been barking like crazy but nope, no barking at all. Well I chalked it up to either a spirit or I must of absentmimdely put them there myself even though I have touched those items in years. So that really didn't make sense to me. I put the items back in the closet and I proceed to put it out of mind and started brushing my teeth. I never stand at the sink because it's just boring. I usually go and watch TV while I am brushing my teeth. Well lo and behold, who walks into the closet and pulls the house shoes out and starts chewing on them? DUTCH. She has never paid those house shoes any attention. Which is why I was so baffled. It never crossed my mind that it was Dutch. Unbeknownst to me, the house shoes were still tied together with those plastics ties that's why the were sitting next to each other. It's possible the baseball hat was probably in the back of the closet on the floor as well. She almost never goes in the closet when I take a shower. She usually lays on her bed chewing on her bully stick. I guess she wanted something different last night. Trust me when I say, I was really freaking out. I thought it was just the creepiest thing. When you live alone and if anything is out of place you notice it. I just knew it was a ghost because of course there was no other explanation. |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | I totally would've freaked out too, omg!!! My mind would've been racing. But I think you're right, I think Dutch just figured it was high time these unused items had a good chewing or something .

| Yup....I am a horror movie buff so I'm sure that played my freaking out. I love supernatural horror movies. So of course I instantly went to it being a ghost. But I will say that since my mother's ashes are in my bedroom I knew she would protect me if it was a malevolent spirit...lol Last edited by yavenay; 12-03-2014 at 09:02 AM. |

| Great story! Love the instant gratification I got by reading the "mystery solved" ending immediately ... unlike your having to wrap your head around the spooky events (and in a vulnerable "after shower" position no less)!

| I know. Nothing like a creepy mystery to solve while at your most vulnerable. Honestly I didn't even realize all I had on was a bathrobe. I was to busy scratching my head trying to figure out how the heck did these shoes get here. You know what of really freaked me? if I had brush my teeth and didn't see Dutch to go back in the closet to get them..... I think I would of ran out the house screaming. | It's just Piper and me, so I know exactly how you feel--only way things get moved in our little abode is if one of us moves 'em! 'Course Piper has made me jump more than once because where I think she is, she isn't and where she wasn't she is now! Thanks for sharing edge-of-your-seat story; well-told and great resolution!! |
