My baby is really quiet today Harley is 4,5 months old. He's usually happy puppy who sleeps a lot but plays like crazy. He's eating Royal Canin Yorkshire terrier junior dry food and it's not much of an eater. His current weight is 1,6kg (3.5lb). Problem is that today he didn't want his breakfast or lunch. I kept calling my husband from work all day to check on him. When I came from work he happily ate whole stick of dog treats (I know I shouldn't have, but I was desperate to see him eating) and little bit of wet dog food. He also spent all day sleeping. I would have taken him to vet immediately if he wasn't playful when awake..but he was..and he doesn't look sick at all. Do yorkies feel little blue sometimes, is that normal? Writing this, he went to his dish and ate a bit more am I just being paranoid? Another question: he shakes sometimes..it's understandable when we are out and he might be scared, but sometimes he shakes in the house when everything is normal or when I take him to our front yard where he loves to be..average temperature at the moment is around 18 to 22 C here where we live, but he's also wearing the t-shirt all the time. Shall I still take him for the check up? He had all of his vaccines, he is dewormed and microchipped. Hope you'll understand my concern. Any advice is more than welcome. Thanks in advance.

Hello I would definitely keep an eye on him. Is he peeing and pooping okay? In my experience, shaking could mean one of two things. Either he is cold or he is some kind of physical pain or discomfort. If shaking is something that he doesn't normally do and is accompanied with other unusual behavior for you dog such as lack of eating, I would keep a very close eye on him to see if it gets worse. But it seems like it is getting better so maybe he just had a little upset tummy. Times like that is where it is extremely important to what's normal behavior for your dog. It could literally save his life. Hope he continues to get better.

Thank you for the replay. That's exactly why I seeked for advice, as Herley is my first Yorkie. He is with me on the bed at the moment, and he's very playful. Pooping and peeing is as usual. I offered him Science Plan dry food from sample I've got from the pet shop and he ate it with appetite. Maybe he's fed up with royal canine? He shakes sometimes, not often and I cannot find the reason. We live in mild climate, so I don't think he feels cold, anyway he always wears his cotton top. My husband thinks that he missed us yesterday, as we all were at work during the day. My husband works shifts so this doesn't happen often and before that I didn't work for five days, so maybe that's the case. Anyway, all our eyes are on him, so hopefully everything will go back to usual. This evening I was chatting with the mommy of Harley's brother and she told me that Benji was also feeling blue and gone off the food. She also went and bought him different brand. Could be that they are teething?

Harley is back to his naughty self He's still not eating much, but this evening he was stealing food of my other dog (Science Plan, adult-mini) so I asume he just doesn't like his usual food anymore or possibly had little upset belly last two days. Could it be teething as well? He was still little quiet and sleepy this morning which is unusual as he's always very happy and energetic when he wakes up but he caught up during the day. He was chasing throught the house his best friend cat Sophie, attacked my slippers and brush when I tried brushing him, was very playful and in good mood today. So I'm relaxing a bit but still keeping my eyes on him
