Heartbroken yorki mama I was lucky enough to be Bijou's mom for the last 6 weeks. She is the sweetest love muffin ever. I knew from the start something was not right with her. In my lifetime I have had 6 yorkies and knew she was too sluggish amongst other things. I have never experienced thes symptoms before. She had severe neurological event last night. Circling, agitated, hyper salivation, pacing for 8 hours straight. She didn't recognize me. It was like she was a completely different dog. I believe she has a liver shunt.

What has the vet said?!!! Did you contact the breeder about her abnormal behavior? Keep the breeder in the loop, especially if this is a genetic issue. Last edited by Yorkiemom1; 11-21-2014 at 11:48 AM.

I was in touch with the breeder on several occasions regarding my concerns. I have wated this little baby just lie around with not much energy for 6 weeks. She was a finicky eater but she did eat and played too. After all the research I have done on her symptoms and the bizarre event last night I knew. The vet/ animal hospital wanted to run so many tests that were in the thousands and if surgery was done there is still no guarantee she would survive it or develope subsequent shunts after. Can't emotionall watch this baby suffer. The breeder has already taken her home with her and is in touch with me.

I feel for u - have been in your shoes in the last few months. It is not easy to watch your beloved puppy have neurological and lethargy symptoms. You did the right thing.
