| Possible to train a yorkie to use the toilet? :P No, I'm not planning to do that training method, but I'm curious if this has been attempted before...or successfully done (with one of those toddler seat covers, however, to prevent the pup from falling in the toilet)!! It would be quite convenient....

| Haha. The visual of a tiny Yorkie somehow getting up onto a big toilet which is pre-equipped with a toddler seat is pretty funny but I doubt if someone has seriously tried it. For one thing, who would want to sit on a toilet where your dog's feet had just been? Plus, most small dogs are pretty scared of getting up onto slippery places with no surrounding support and would not feel secure during the training at all, likely not being ever relaxed enough up on the top of the toilet to produce anything. The whole idea of expecting a dog to eliminate in a human toilet is pretty unnatural for the dog, too. Their natural instinct is to eliminate outside where they can mark their very own territory and their powerful scent will be "appreciated" by the whole outdoors world, mostly other dogs in the neighborhood.

| Here's a corgi using a toilet. If he can, a yorkie could. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/arti...human-loo.html Personally I'd still worry about a small dog falling. It's safer for them to go on the ground.

| There are so many people with dogs, living in apartments, it would be good to invent a toilet for dogs and cats, that's small and that's in the bathroom. Like a ground based toilet.

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | You can train a cat to use the toilet, by putting a litter box on the tolet and cutting the box smaller and smaller. I even seen one cat learn to flush the toilet. But a Yorkie? Hahahahahahahahahah!

| I think it's possible, just may take a long time lol But why get them to use the big toilet with a toddler seat when you can just get them a toddler sized toilet not so high above the ground and probably easier for them to prop themselves up on it. (of course, there's a bit more cleaning depending on how the toilet is made or set up, might add water or cat litter in it for easier cleaning)

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | I just don't think you could train a Yorkie to do that. They aren't in love with heights like cats are. Also cats seek out their box, if you put it high, they will go high, if you put it in a closet with a door partially closed, they will squeeze through the door. They have a innate desire to use the litter box, you don't even have to train them to use it. Yorkies aren't like that, if they can't get to the pee pad easily, they go on the floor.

| That would be quite challenging... We tried toilet training our cats when they were kittens, but it turned out to be quite messy. We used the Litter Kwitter, but they would get litter all over the floor and we were in a one bathroom apartment, so it wasn't too much fun sharing the bathroom with the kitties
