Wow, I'm surprised at a lot of those stores. We are getting a Menards Hardware store opening soon. I wonder if they allow dogs.

It also depends on the store itself. I have heard many people say they have taken there dog in lowes and Home Depot with no issues and many say they were asked to leave. I have noticed on a lot of lowers doors it says no dogs unless service dogs.

Can hardly believe SAks & Pottery Barn. Will have to check that out. Lexie has been in Nordstrom many times and really like Bass Pro Shop--(she wears her camo tee shirt there )

Sophie Kate LOVES Lowes, when we drive by and don't stop she whines and gets all pouty.


I was in Whole Foods last weekend and a lady had her Poodle in the store, now I love Dogs as much as the next girl but they do not belong in Whole Foods.

I take pups to Half Price Books to socialize them. They even have a sign on the door stating that they are pet friendly. Two of my favorite things together - dogs and books. Heaven.

I have taken them to Home Depot and Lowes and never had a problem but never tried Walmart, Target or the grocery because they have food there.
The comments at the end of that article are crazy.

St. Louis Premium Outlets opens Aug. 22


Updated Aug. 20, 2013 ... St. Louis Premium Outlets, located in Chesterfield Valley, will have its Grand Opening Celebration Thursday, Aug. 22 through Sunday Aug. 25, 2013.

St. Louis Premium Outlets will have 90 outlet stores, including Ann Taylor, Armani, BCBG Max Azria, Coach, Crabtree & Evelyn, Elie Tahari, J.Crew, Kate Spade New York, MaxStudio.com, Michael Kors, Nike, Saks Fifth Avenue Off 5th, St. John, Tommy Hilfiger, Under Armour, Vera Bradley. Carter's, The Children's Place Outlet, Disney Store Outlet, Gymboree Outlet, OshKosh B'gosh, Stride Rite Keds Sperry and Toys"R"Us Outlet will also be at St. Louis Premium Outlets. Opening weekend festivities include autograph sessions with St. Louis Cardinals' Mike Matheny, Trevor Rosenthal and Matt Carpenter at Wilsons Leather, special savings at retailers throughout the mall, and fireworks on Saturday night. The first of two new outlet malls for Chesterfield Valley is opening on Friday, Aug. 2, just in time for Missouri's Back to School Sales Tax Holiday.

Taubman Prestige Outlets Chesterfield will open its doors to shoppers at 10 a.m. on Aug. 2. Located on the north side of Interstate 64, adjacent to Hardee's Iceplex, Taubman Prestige Outlets has 310,000 square feet of retail space in a village-style outdoor shopping plaza.

Retailers include Polo Ralph Lauren Factory Store, Restoration Hardware, Abercrombie & Fitch Outlet, Abercrombie Kids, 2b Bebe Outlet, Lucky Brand Outlet, Brooks Brothers Factory Store, Bettie Page, Johnston & Murphy Factory Store, Love Culture Outlet, Solstice Sunglass Outlet, Steve Madden, Pacific Sunwear Outlet, Gap Factory Store, J. Crew Factory, Banana Republic Factory Store, American Eagle Outfitters, Broadway, Brookstone, Cellairis, Chic, Famous Footwear Outlet, Jewelry Box, Mark Anthony Collection, MindWorks Gallery, Teavana and Hickory Farms. "We're 80 percent leased and committed," said Colleen O'Neill, general manager of Taubman Prestige Outlets Chesterfield. She expects 70 percent of the stores to be open on Aug. 2, with additional stores opening in the upcoming months.

Taubman Prestige Outlets may be the first mall in St. Louis to encourage shoppers to bring along their dogs. The outlet mall offers "dog friendly hospitality," which includes dog comfort and watering stations. Plus, three-quarters of the retailers will allow well-behaved, leashed dogs into their stores, O'Neill said. "It's a very unique shopping experience," she said — one that's been popular at three other Taubman projects.

Retailers at the new outlet mall are hiring, and a list of openings can be found online.

Taubman Prestige Outlets Chesterfield is located at 17017 North Outer 40 Road, Chesterfield, Mo., 63305. Outlet stores will be open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Call 636-812-0570.

I live in Mid-MO and I go up to St. Louis often. I also often go to the Taubman Prestige Outlet and see lots of people walking and socializing their pups there. Taubman Prestige reminds me a lot of the outlet in Orlando. I don't think I've been to the St. Louis Premium Outlets. I saw a lady walking her dog in the Galleria Mall one time...I don't think she was supposed to do that...her dog wasn't a service dog, either..

I have only been there once, on a really hot day this summer. It was too hot for dogs and I didn't see any. The shopping center was practically deserted. I hope the stores do well so they don't have to close. I love that they welcome dogs.
