| I never told you about Peanut.... We have a 14-year old, Cozy, and a 5-month old, Winston. I've never told you about our 12-year old Peanut whom we lost in September. He was a trooper, no matter what came his way he just rolled with it---I called him 5 pounds of fury. He was sweet to my husband and me, not so sweet to anyone else....really hated a particular friend of our son's (which made me wonder about that guy). Anyway, one day a delivery man came to the door and Peanut barked a couple of times then passed out. I took him to the vet who said he had congestive heart failure, but that he could live a couple of years with it if we could get the fluid under control. Well, later that night we were sitting on the couch watching tv and Peanut crawled up in my lap, rested for a while, and died. Just relaxed, went to sleep and his giant little heart just stopped. I couldn't believe it and of course went to pieces....but even as I sat there holding him and my husband with us, we talked about what a wonderful way to go. Wouldn't it be great to know you could crawl up in the lap of the person you love best and just go? Anyway, I have gotten so much out of this site and appreciate you all so much, I wanted you to know this bit of our history. |

| I'm so sorry for the loss of your Peanut. That must have seemed so sudden. He passed peacefully in the lap of someone he loved. |

| That is a very sad and very sweet story. I am so sorry for your loss. I lost my own Zoey over Labor Day weekend and know how truly devastating it can be. I agree with you about climbing into the lap of the person you love best and just letting go. |

| I am sorry for your loss of little Peanut. I'm glad he was surrounded by warmth and love when he passed. Yes, I would choose that for my boys and myself.

| so sad for your loss, and happy that you had 12 great years with your Peanut and that in the end he suffered very little and crossed over to Rainbow Bridge in the lap of love, he must have felt very safe and comforted by your presence
