| Hello! Hello everyone ! I'm new here I'm a little confused , I recently purchased and 8 week ols puppy that I thought was a yorkie puppy and he came with akc paperwork so I felt confident that he was purebred. His name is Maximus and he is a 16 week 6 pounder ! Lol . So getting his vaccination the vet said that he was either a silky or a mix. So I'm a little bummed because I had my heart set on a small Yorkshire . We already love him so much but would like to know what he really is . Can someone help ?also he has floppy ears that only stood for 2 days when I shaved them . |

| Welcome to YT, my last girl was pure yorkie, AKC registered, as an adult she weighed in at 17 lbs. Beautiful sleek body. When I bought her she was huge, that was back in 1997 so I don't remember what her weight was, but she was BIG. Her size did not matter to me,she was gotten for my 8 y/o girl that had just lost her 2 sisters and was pining away, she was also the spoiled lil Diva and very bossy, reason I wanted this bigger yorkie. My vet asked me if she was a Silky because of her size, all I can say is her papers read Yorkie, and she lived up to all yorkie characteristics. She lived to be 17 y/o. She left me one year ago this past Oct. 1,2014. Size does not determine if they are full breed. I LOVED my big yorkie, she was solid, not tiny and frail that I had to worry about her jumping off sofa's or beds. I am sorry you did not get the wee little yorkie you had your heart set on, but you will not be disappointed with your lil Maximus, and you can always get that smaller one later on.

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Can you post a picture so we can try to help with assessing whether he looks purebred? If you want to tape up the ears, see this thread: http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/pup...-stand-up.html

| What a cute puppy! I have a baby that is a big boy. He weighs 7.1 pounds at 6 months. He is the most loveable dog I have ever had.
