| Kind of a spinoff...is your dog skinny, average, or chunky? I was watching the "fill out" post and now I'm curious...what category would you say your dog belongs in? Sheldon is still young, at less than five months, but he is so skinny :/ He eats great, mostly dry kibble with either a quality wet mix in or beef baby food (no dinners, just the plain beef) mix in once or twice a week. I don't give a mix in much because I don't want him to become too picky. He's eating at the very least a half a cup of kibble a day (Royal canin x-small puppy, which I know some like and some don't, but he seems to do well on it...eats it well. Healthy bowel movements, etc.) sometimes more, but he is still so thin. I know it's not parasites or anything. I would love for him to put on a little weight, but don't want unhealthy weight. He is energetic, happy, and such so I am not worried, just wish he didn't seem so boney...lol. Where does your baby fall on this scale, in your opinion, and how old are they? Are you happy with their weight or do you feel like they should weigh more/less? |

Pip (1yr next month) got too skinny. She was picky and not eating enough, she'd start throwing up bile, so I tube fed her, a couple of times a day. Just enough to wet her appetite. I just put the tube in her mouth and she'd eat it, we didn't have to force her to. Once the food was in her mouth, she'd eat it. Within 20min she'd then eat her normal food from a bowl. (The vet checked her out, nothing wrong with her, just picky). This changed within a week or so of her being spayed, now she eats all her food and is eager at meal times. She is still built like a greyhound, runs like a greyhound.. but not so bony. Slim and tall. She and Caleb are both around 10lbs but completely different in shape.

Senior Yorkie Talker | Well Bailey is seven months now is weight is 2 1/2 pounds now. He was 1.8 at 10 weeks. The vet as said small dogs gain weight very slowly not to worry. In my opinion as long as he is healthy and not losing weight he will grow at his own pace.

| I've got one of each. Sir Barnacles aka Barney is a thin 6 pounder. He's very tall and dainty. --2 years old Anna is our linebacker. She is a chubby 7 pounder. She should be around 4.5 to 5 pounds. There's nothing dainty about her.--around 6 or 7 years old, not sure, we got her from a shelter When they rumble, Anna could easily take him down, but he uses those long legs to bat at her. Love my two odd balls!

| Teddy is 12 weeks old and he weighs 2lbs. Everyone keeps saying how fat he is but he's really not. He has a lot more hair than his sister does and they weigh the same. I'd say they're both average. |

| Lola was very thin and extremely picky, now that I have her food issues sorted out she's a bit chubby, maybe .5lbs over weight (she's 7lbs). Don't worry about him getting fat until he's about a year old, he's got a lot of growing to do. |

| hmm, my girl is at 5 months now (about 6-7lbs) and she's occasionally somewhat a "chunky monkey" ^^; I know I shouldn't worry till she's a year or so, but in our family our dogs tend to be destined for fatness at least at some point in their lives. So I'm trying to keep her in good shape, especially since I plan to spay her and want to make sure she's not eating too much.

| I would say Oscar falls into the "average" category . He has a rather square shape @ 12 in tall & 13 long and 9 1/2 pounds . |

| Lilah is skinny. Vet scored her body condition as ideal recently and I have brought it up every time we have come in but I think they are just so glad she isn't overweight (because that is appearantly a common problem in their practice)- they say yes a bit skinny but she is doing fine, just don't let her lose any weight and then they remind me that you don't so body conditioning scores on a dog like you do a goat or most livestock. She has kept a steady and consistent weight of 4.6 for quite some time and that gives me some reassurance, she is almost two years old. Lilah is a picky eater and we have done a lot of grain free/raw/natural this and that, turned up her nose again and again. I am excited to find that she will heartily eat royal canin yorkie puppy food (kibble and wet) but as she is almost two I don't know that that is meeting her adult dietary needs. We go back to the vet in a couple of weeks so we will discuss the next step food wise then but royal canin adult was a no go for her tummy.

| Pao is 8 yrs old and he is skinny. He has never really put on weight since he was a puppy anyways but after being sick with pancreatitis and hemorrhagic gastroenteritis, his weight went down from 10lbs to 7.6lbs which worries me a little but vet said so long he is eating fine and has appetite, it is okay but just needs to keep watch that he won't keep on losing more weight.

Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | Bentley has always been a picky eater. He weighs 3.5 lbs and is now 13 years old. If we don't get some kimd of food into him early enough, he will also throw up some bile. Since he is so picky, sometimes I have to "wet" his appetite and feed him with some chicken. Porsche is a great eater and is about 5.5 lbs and will be 11 years old in November. Porsche will occasionally throw up some bile. Otherwise, they are both doing great.

| Blazer is about 2 1/2 years old and is SKINNY!!!!! He takes after his Mama, even when she was pregnant with her third litter (and largest of 6 pups) she still looked really skinny. If you didn't know she was pregnant, you'd never guess it. |

| Chachi is 14 lbs so the vet said he is fine the way he is but he doesnt need to gain any more weight he doesnt look overweight though hes kinda long and his weight is well distributed. My Jewels is 8 lbs and I would say she is average weight but I call her My sausage roll with legs because her body is so short she looks like all body. She is so small and light though she is just short bodied

| Emma is still a puppy only 8 months but she's 4.5 pounds. She's about average to me. My previous yorkie, Troy, was 4.5 pounds as an adult and I would say he was skinny. But I attribute that to difference in quality of breeding.
