| Newbie Hi I'm new to the group and have had my Yorkie's for 9 years now. My husband brought me my little girl for my Birthday 9 years ago and she is now his dog so to speak they are totally in love with each other. Unfortunately about 1 year ago she went totally blind inoperable and has just last month been diagnosed with Cushings Disease. We are heartbroken but am looking forward to seeing if the medication she has been prescribed will help at least with her muscle loss I don't care about how she looks but I would love her to gain weight and some muscles in her hind quarter as she is very weak there. Anyway she also has our boy Scuzby who keep an eye on her it is funny how they seem to know he will get out of his bed and just go into her bed sometimes just to touch her then go back to his own and other times will cuddle up with her |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Hi and WELCOME to YT ! Really glad you found us!!! I'm sorry to hear your kiddo was diagnosed w/ Cushings - I know *exactly* how you feel bc my Wylie was diagnosed w/ it when he was *only* 4 yrs old! It's a complicated disease, as you're probably learning. The learning curve is high at first, but it does start to sink in after awhile. Once your baby's cortisol is regulated, some of her current Cushings symptoms will go away . My Wylie is pretty much blind too - due to cataracts but you'd never know it if you met him. If you have any questions about Cushings - def start a thread in the Sick/Emergency section. I have good links/sites for you if you need them.

| Thanks Thanks for your warm welcome and I would appreciate any advice. It is a heartbreaking disease to see them go through all I want is for her muscle mass to come back and strengthen her back legs a bit. She dosent seem to us to be in pain as she has a coup,e of other Neuroligal conditions as well almost like a dementia as well as the both back legs have a constant tic thing happening. If she were in obvious pain I wouldn't let her suffer. If that happens Im leaving the Country there would be no living with my husband she is his best soul mate |

| So happy you are joining us. I am a newbie too but notice how I am already saying "us". That is because I have found this group to be so warm and welcoming and I already feel at home. Sorry your baby is suffering. I know nothing about Cushings disease but love the suggestion from Wylie's mom and her offer to help with information as you educate yourself on everything you need to know. |
