| TREAT RECALL + interesting article RECALL ALERT: Simply Nourish Dog Treats | The Dogington Post It makes one worry to even buy them treats. Mine get very few purchased treats. Carrots, fruit (approved), and a dried liver treat from Trader Joes. Anything they get is checked to make sure it is made in the USA. Their safety is my main concern.

| I always worry about hearing a treat brand I get my girls would be under recall, like Waggin' Trails (now I think there's another with a similar name). Gave that to my jacks for a long time, they loved them, but then I saw the recall as they were one of the ones that cause some dogs to die. Since I had my yorkie, I've been trying to stick to better brands that have the least recalls or none, but eventually I hope to start making good use of my dehydrator and make them their treats fresh.

| Eww, mold! Thank you for the heads up. With all of the recalls and problems, we stopped buying treats at the stores. The kibble is enough to worry about.

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | That's can be the trouble with products advertising the word "natural" in their food. No preservatives can lead to bad things happening like mold. You want to make sure you always use before expiration dates. We don't really buy any store bought treats, there are so many things you can make, and our two love easy things like frozen thawed green beans.
