| Trimming hair under eyes? Rolo is having his hair cut on Thursday, the groomer has always cut the hair under his eyes really short I've been wondering if to ask her not to this time so the hair can grow and hopefully lay flat instead of sticking out in front of his eyes. Does anyone else not trim the hair under their yorkies eyes? Not sure if it's a good idea or not, or just let her trim it as normal. Here's also a picture of Rolo from a month ago, hoping the bits in front of his eyes will lay flat in time when they grow more. |

| Do you mean the hair between the eyes? It's up to you, some people like that trimmed look, it looks like a fan. It's a PIA growing it out tho & it pokes their eyes, making them tear & that causes a whole host of problems. But if you want to grow it, as it gets long, the weight of the hair will naturally weigh the hair down. BTW, Rolo is a cutie!

| It is a pain to grow out but so worth it once you do.

| Rolo is definitely a cutie Right now Teddy's got the hair between his eyes sticking up everywhere. Mostly every day I lay it flat and get it out of his eyes. After some thought I too decided whenever he gets his first groom I'll tell my groomer to not cut it so the hair can grow out. |

| I told the groomer to not trim under Teddy's eyes on the last visit in August. It is now nicely grown out and is trying to go flat but still obscures his vision and will do so until it has been "trained" to do otherwise and is more weighted. I would say it is worth it because, even though I think a well groomed short yorkie is adorable, having their muzzle longer is also a nice look and much easier to maintain once the hair around their eyes has grown out. I haven't had any problems and it grows quickly (in my case) so good luck! |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | I don't trim our 2 who are in full coats, just Wylie who is in a puppy cut.

| I like it trimmed better, when her eyes water it doesnt cause it to be matted and I dont have to clean the "eye boogers" lol.
