| I think I broke my toe.... Has anyone ever inflicted injury on themselves to avoid hurting their fur butt? I think I broke my big toe trying not to squash Winnie last night!! She was particularly clingy last night. She follows me around a lot but not as much as last night....she followed me EVERYWHERE.... and I managed to bend my toe in an unnatural way trying to avoid stepping down fully on her foot. Now it's swollen and very painful! But man if I had stepped on her i would have been devastated! |

| Hope you get your toe checked out and it heals fast. Surprising how much a toe can hurt. We do the yorkie shuffle here, as they are always at our feet, especially Caleb, he's my shadow. I've had to grab walls, furniture, twist in a weird way, to not hurt them. Pip sometimes, jumps on a chair as you go to sit, it not easy to stop sitting, once your half way down.

| Haha no it's definitely hard not to sit once you're halfway there....Winnie has almost been sat on several times!!! I've been icing my toe ... Still hurts but there's not much they do for toes anyway! |

I do understand what you mean, I've done many dangerous things in an attempt to save Joey. I dropped a knife once and stuck my foot out so that it would fall on my foot and not Joey, he wasn't even close! When they are little they follow you around all the time, this lessens as they get older and it's only if you have food. Anyway, hope you toe is on the mend and glad you are keeping Winnie safe!

| Hope your toe is ok. My husband and I were trying to catch Peanut as he was running around in the house with something he had picked up off the floor and we were trying to get it away from him. He ran right between us and we both bent down at the same time to grab him. I ended up with a sore head and hubby ended up with a black eye and damaged glasses. Now I just grab a treat and call him. Who says a little Yorkie can't be dangerous. |

| ouch, hope you're in a bit less pain. My boy is always under me, in fact he usually steps on the back of my slippers and pulls them off my feet, or he runs between my legs, and this is a 3 y/o not a puppy. I am a wall / furniture holder / gripper also, at least he doesn't jump on the kitchen chairs. all my girls did, yep, trying stopping a sit down lol.

| Sorry about your toe! I've stepped on Momo's paw so many x's, he's always by my foot & he yells out the most painful cry. I feel horrible whenever that happens. Quote:

| Big toes injuries need to be seen by a doctor and X-rayed. They keep your balance and are not like breaking other less important toes. Lynzy420 also tripped and I insisted she go to the ER and she did reluctantly. Sure enough it was broken and she needed to have it reset surgically. She was very surprised the it was broken and that what I had told her was true. As for tripping not to hurt our little ones, it's something that I've done as well. Oh and I also slipped and fell on dog pee and broke my left arm in 3 places. I needed surgery and a plate to put it back together as well as 5 months of surgery. So I totally get the getting injured.

| Yes... I think most part of my body suffered SOME sort of injury so my furbutts wouldn't be harmed. One of the worst I remember is having to catch a batch king crab that was falling from the freezer b/c Zoey was right below. Wasn't fun only having one hand to use for couple days. LOL |

| I feel much less ridiculous knowing that I'm not the only one!!! I iced it yesterday and the swelling did go down...but it is bruised pretty badly and my husband made me go to urgent care. They did an X-ray and from first glance cannot see a break but there is a lot of bruising in the way...so they said they will have the radiologist read it and make sure. for now i am to stay off of it as much as possible. the dr said if it is broken they will get back to me. |
