| Could our yorkie be mixed with another breed? My daughter and I were discussing how our yorkie Olivia might be mixed with another breed. She's so cute and unique and we're curious! She has a short nose for a yorkie and her hair lightened up so much as she grew up, now she is blonde in some parts (around her face, her legs and paws) and silver/grey on her back. We had another yorkie in the past who passed away and she was quite darker, and had a longer nose. Here is Olivia's album: http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/alb...?albumid=16772 |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Wow, she is such a cutie!!! My Wylie is all yorkie, and is all blond like yours. I think yours does look all yorkie, she is just a really light yorkie. Of course, there is a chance too that she is mixed, I'm just not sure w/ what...?

| Maybe there is Maltese somewhere in her background or she could be all Yorkie. She looks like so many Yorkies I've seen on YT and online that it's hard to say she's got any mix in her. Whatever her lineage, she sure is precious and sweet! I fell in love with her from those pictures. She's a doll.

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | Lots of Yorkies are light, but I was thinking of a Shih Tzu, because here eyes seem a little bigger than most Yorkies and also they have shorter noses, although lots of Yorkies also have short noses. Her ears look a little longer and droopier, although it's hard to tell from the photos if it's her ears or just the hair on the ears. However, unless the breeder has shaved the ear hair, some yorkie puppies ears won't stand on their own and there is so much variation in Yorkies. She is adorable, that's for sure. Welcome to Yorkietalk, I love the name Olivia, it's my granddaughter's name!

Our Harry is very, very pale - but I understand where you're coming from....there's something about Olivia's eyes which is a bit different (but what do I know?!!!? ). Was also thinking Shih Tzu or maybe Lhasa Apso...but then again with a Maltese? Harry and I love her to bits!! x

| Aw, thank you all so much for the answers and the compliments! We think she's beautiful too She was so dark as a puppy compared to now that family members actually asked if we lightened her hair somehow . She was a rescue so we don't exactly know her history, so we were just curious if she looked like she was mixed at all! Thanks everyone. |

| She looks all yorkie to me! But I agree with others, she could have shih-tzu in her. The only way you can be sure is if you get a dna test done.
