| Aww, I know how nervous I was with Billi. I'd never experienced it before, but I learned a lot! She'll probably be really out of it for at least a few hours after you pick her up. She might not want to eat, either. Just give her a comfy and quiet place to rest. It's a major surgery, so you'll really have to keep her from moving around a lot- running, jumping, etc. It'll be really hard the next couple of days when she's alert and wants to play again. Just keep her calm and from running. Make sure she leaves her stitches alone... She'll be fine. Oh and you'll be fine too!

| Piece of cake, Ginger just had hers on the 3rd, all healed outside, inside still lumpy (Takes longer to heal abdominal cut). First time I had a dog spayed the new way so I was nervous about licking and scratching, no bandages, internal stiches. Was red first day and half, she whinned day and half, after that the cut area was same color as belly just a slight swell on the line, completely heal outside by day 8, no swell. Vet gave Tamadril for pain for day and half, said she'd be fine after that and she was. Had to keep her crated for first few days as she didn't act like she had been cut and wanted to play and run. If still teething have Vet check and pull Canies if needed and other baby teeth. Gingers upper were growing in front and would have messed her permanent, they showed no sign of dissolving so never would have come out by them selves and messed up her bite. She's done teething now, just a few shorties still growing in but perfect bite Last edited by windwalker; 09-15-2014 at 11:07 AM. |

| Don't be nervous. When we got Jasmin spayed I was a nervous wreck too. She was fine. We just our boy neutered 4 days ago. He is fine and has been wanting to play. Vet said no activity for one week. I think the hardest part is trying to stop them from playing until they heal. Best wishes to you and your baby.

| I'll be in the same boat in a couple of months X.x; I got a playpen and crate already, thankfully, so I may wind up getting those set up around that time.

If done suddenly can have bad reactions from pup, separation anxiety and such, also there will be enough stress from the surgery without the added crate fright. | |
