| Look what I just chased out of my yard in the middle of the day. There is something seriously wrong with it. Either hit by a car or diseased wandering aimlessly in the middle of the day. When it stopped to shake it about fell over. My girls are on lock down for a little while.

| Yikes, that is so weird. Can Animal Control catch it? What if it has a disease like distemper or rabies.....

| Yes, I reported it. That's what I was worried about too. And I just hate to see any creature suffering. Even if it is a skunk. Poor thing.

| Poor guy or gal has to be sick. Hopefully not rabies. But skunks never come out in daylight. Hopefully AC can get the poor thing and see what's wrong

| Did AC ever come out? Did the skunk go away? Please be careful, skunks carry rabies and will go after your pups.

| AC wasted too much time coming out and we lost track of the poor thing. Come to find out, I come to work this morning and my neighbor said it is in his garage after a kid left their door open. (I only work a block from home and two of my neighbors work here too.) So we called them back and they are going to come and get it. He said it was just curled up on a rug. It's behavior is strange to say the least. Doesn't even try to defend itself or seem scared it's in the presence of people.

| I know some people have skunks as pets I wonder if that is why it is not afraid of humans?

| It must be injured. I am like you, don't like skunks but hate to see something suffer. I was told they have rabies if they come out during the day. However, AC said that is not true.

| Oh no poor skunk must be sick. There's lots of skunks here, I almost got sprayed by one! So I googled back then & ran into this site, it has very good info: Rabies - Walkin' Wild Skunk Rescue

| What a great link jenny! I'm afraid that poor skunk looks just like the rabid skunk in the article and displays all the symptoms of dumb rabies (as opposed to aggressive rabies) I hope the neighbors harboring the skunk in their garage are safe! Yikes... Glad you called the authorities madam cha cha cha Moka's mama
