| My Lizzy scoots her behind on the floor, what does this mean? I know this sounds a little gross, but Lizzy often drags her behind across the floor, you know, like she has a little itch or something. I have checked her bottom and there is nothing stuck in her hair and she gets her worming every month so I am sure it's not worms. Do any of your dogs do this? Just wondering if it means anything, or she just has an itchy rump? |

| Her anal glands need to be squeezed. Your vet or groomer can show you how or do it for you.

| Butt surfing! haha That's what we have named it in our household. But Carters Mom is right. She just needs her anal glands expressed. Your vet or groomer (although lots of groomers won't do this) can do it for you for a price or show you how. It's really very simple. And your baby will feel so much better once you've done it for her. I do Bouncer's once a week during one of his bathtimes. That way I can do it, then wash him. Kill two birds with one stone. Hpoe that helps you out! If all else fails you can easily look online and find "directions" on how to do it a well. I'd explain, but for some reason I'm having trouble trying to find the words to explain it where it makes sense. haha Anyways, good luck!

| Stewie needs it done, but I am boycotting my vet right now because she is starting to charge me $28 just to walk in the door. Anyway, how much pressure are you supposed to apply? I want to do it myself. Also, does it make their butts feel better when they scoot?

| LOL I know my shepherd released his anal glands when he went for his heartworm test. All I have to say is plug your nose. does it smell that bad when you do it or does it only smell that bad when a dog happens to somehow release it themselves. It was horrid a horrid smell had to take him to the groomer as soon as i left his vet. lol I hope my groomer will do my yorlies for me. sue |
