| Grooming Question My groomer just changed her prices to $55 for a wash, trim, nails, and blow dry..... Is it me or is that expensive?

| I'd say it'd depend on the quality, and if you think it's really worth it. I, for one, could not afford $55 for what I could mostly due at home. I really only plan to take Sheldon when he needs a complete cut and groom. I can't cut, but I can bathe, brush, blow dry, do nails, teeth. So, technically I'd be paying $55 for a cut and the convenience of not having to do the rest of it for once...lol. I don't even pay $55 for my own hair cuts (well, I have a Mohawk, so that's not really a good comparison, but you get my point ). |

| In addition to what BobbiB said, location is another factor in price. Full grooming here is anywhere between $60-$100 on size/breed. |

| I pay $60 in downstate Illinois, so $55 doesn't sound too bad. I suppose it depends on the part of the country you live in. |

| The groomer at my vet who bathes, cuts nails and keeps them in a puppy cut costs $45 but the mobile groomer who cuts better charges $20 more then the groomer at the vet. I think it depends a lot on your area and stuff. The mobile groomer is part of a grooming place that actually competes in grooming contests so in my opinion they should and are going to charge more.

| Around here, I guess it depends on the size of the dog/style of the cut. For Billi to have a full groom, which is usually a bath, schnauzer cut, nails, blow dry and anals (tho I don't let the groomer do that, just the vet) is about $40-45 in a salon; it's $55 for the mobile groomer.

| $60-70 is normal for my area, even at petsmart and petco. The quality isn't good either. I was going to have Lola's ears trimmed at petco, they wouldn't do it without a bath and it would have been $30. I do all of her grooming now. |

| My groomer charges $35 for wash cut or trim plus nails and tooth brushing. I am happy and I hope she never moves. I am just north of Gastonia, North Carolina Lynne |

| It's $65 plus tip all 3 places I've gone to around here. That said, I got some clippers as a gift and used them for the first time the other day. The boys turned out pretty well, so I think I'll be able to reduce visits to the groomer |

| Hiya, I think its expensive but I pay almost the exact thing for Teddy. I tend to get him groomed once every 2-3 months. I am too scared to do his nails myself and the woman I use doesn't use cage dryers and also does show dogs at shows like Crufts so knows the right style for Yorkies and doesn't mind that he barks the whole 2 hours he's there...lol |

Donating YT 2000 Club Member | I do the Biewers and Havanese once a month at the groomer. The Biewers who are showing get groomed either at the crack of dawn or the night before a show depending on location. I wash all the Biewers in puppy cut at least once a month, especially the boys. |
