Yorkie Yakker | 3 Month old peeing on bed Good day, I would like some advise please. Our Bella has been sleeping in our bed since we got her (I know, first mistake). We don't have a garden which is why we went with the paper training - which is going very well. During the night she wakes me up to go wee-wee, as our bed is to high for her to jump of off. But last night she had an oeps on the bed. How do I deal with this? My experience with Yorkies have taught me that they are very emotional and touchy dogs, but I want to do what will be better for all in the long run. Do I start letting her sleep somewhere else or what other options do I have. She's my little girl and I treat her with the same respect I do my two sons. I would also like to thank the yorkie lover who helped me post a new threat... thanx Thank you! Bellie-Bellie Last edited by Bella1978; 08-14-2014 at 05:43 AM. |

| Welcome to YT I would crate train her until you are sure she can go all night long, or buy a box of disposable diapers and put them on her at night. Everything takes getting used to but three months old is not to late by any means to retrain. if you crate her you might have a few sleepless nights but eventually she will get used to it, she also might not like the diaper but eventually will get used to that as well.

2+2=4 X the Love ♥ Donating Member | In my opinion crate training a pup is the best way. There are so many things that can go wrong with having your pup in the bed with you as you are now finding out. Peeing is the least of your problems, what if she falls and breaks a leg. I've had much success training all four of my Yorkies and you can find out how I did it on my website Dawn's Yorkies! Training Tips - Dawn's Yorkies

Yorkie Yakker | Thank you so much for all the advise. Bella slept next to our bed last night. She moaned a bit, but after a while she fell asleep and didn't even wet the newspaper (or anywhere else) during the night. Murphy's law I suppose. I also cornered her sleeping area off in order for her not to dwell around at night. I will definitely think about getting steps for her, but only when I'm sure she's properly trained. Shoe, never knew having a Yorkie pup would be like having a newborn... but loving it at the same time! |

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | We put a pee pad at the end of our bed on a chest and Joey did seek it out during the night. This was after he was trained to go on pee pads. I also wanted to say that Joey's breeders told me to praise the success and ignore the mistakes, please don't punish when they make a mistake, you'll cause yourself more long term grief than you can imagine.
