| Does your yorkie know how to open walnuts? This christmas we had a big bowl of walnuts as we always do,its a spanish tradition at christmas and we all love them. One afternoon Jess was very busy chasing something around the room, and by the sound of it against the floor,I thought it was her little plastic bone, but it wasnt. Later on I found walnut shell on the floor in her bed and the next day I found more behind the couch and I panicked thinking that she was getting the walnut shell from the trash. I covered the trash and didnt think any more of it until my husband called me into the living room a few days later,he was whispering and wanted me to see something that Jess was doing. We hid behind the door and there she was throwing a walnut into the air until on one of the falls it cracked. Then she took it to her bed,ate the walnut and left the shell on the floor! lol.She had been getting up onto the living room table and stealing them!!! I gave her another one after that just to see if it wasnt a coincidence and she opened it again, leaving the shell behind! I guess I have a little beaver in the house lol.Even I cant open walnuts without a cruncher! |

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | TOOOOOOOO FUNNY ! I've missed Jesse stories and that's a really good one - what a smart little girl ! hahaha - I would have been on the floor laughing too be careful of the walnuts though ...they're very hard for dogs to digest.... Cheri had a little Hazelnut...it was like her Pet Nut ...for about 6 MONTHS that she carried around... but only to play with - I couldn't believe that nut was still around for so long in my house....I never had the heart to take it away from her I bet if I looked hard enough I'd find it in one of her beds

| Mine love walnuts, I do worry it might hurt them. But - watch out for your own feet, boy those things hurt to step on barefoot!

| Baxter also loves to play with pecans. He loves to throw them up in the air and chase them. He hasn't yet figured out how to open them. I had my children doing the cracking and he kept stealing them before they could crack them. He has several stashed all over the house. It entertains him for a very, very long time.
